Right before I looked at the newFable III: Traitor’s KeepDLCyesterday, I played around withFable IIIfor PC, as well as the mobile gameFable Coin Golffor Windows Phone 7.

Fable IIIseems like a pretty straightforward port, with a couple new bits. First, there’s the addition of a “hardcore mode” difficulty setting. So, if you like your meat rare and your games tough, this might be for you.

Second, there’s support forNvidia 3D Vision. I tried it out, and it looks pretty alright. I personally think 3D in video games is distracting, and the glasses make me feel like I’m doingChronicles of Riddickcosplay, so I’m the wrong guy to ask about 3D quality.

Fable Coin Golfis a silly littleFable-themed minigolf-ish game where you pick up gold and avoid hazards. If it were just a mobile game, I wouldn’t be too impressed. However, the gold you earn while playing can be transferred to your regular Fable III game. There are also three exclusive weapons that can only be unlocked through Coin Golf. You completists must hate this, huh?

I think it’s a cool idea. I remember my buddy used to rig up crazy macros on his PC so hisUltima: Onlineblacksmith would keep forging iron ingots while he was at school all day. Having a fun minigame on his cell phone would’ve been easier, probably. ‘Course, back then, nobody had cell phones. Hmph. Kids these days.

Anyway,Fable IIIis hitting PC on May 17th, and all the bonus crap from the Limited Collector’s Edition will be included on disc. All DLC, including the upcomingTraitor’s Keep, will be available for it at launch.Fable Coin Golfwill pop up on the Zune Marketplace sometime next month.
