Eternal Sonata, despite a few elements that I wished could have been a little better, was one of my favorite RPGs of last year, so hearing that the PS3 version would feature goodies such as new playable characters and new outfits was cool … but not quite cool enough to make me go out and buy the game a second time. However, the US localization specialist, Stephanie Fernandez, has shared some new details about the game withPlayStation blog, and it seems the story itself has undergone some modifications:
“When I started working on Eternal Sonata for the PS3, I was pleased to find out there would be additional story material incorporated into the game that is unique to the platform. I had always felt there were some aspects of the story which might be a little too vague for anyone who didn’t have the advantage of the background knowledge that I had about the story. But now there are scenes that give the game player a little more insight; scenes that reveal a bit more general information about the concept behind the story and more specific details regarding character motivations.”
I have to admit, that does pique my interest, along with the new dungeons. I probably won’t jump at the bit and buy it immediately as there’s so much other good stuff out there right now (I’m frozen in the clutches ofDead Space!), but I think I may want to pick it up and play through for the new stuff in the long run. How about you?
