I have all of those Sega collections. Have ’em and love ’em. There’s some serious overlap in my game library, but I’m a sucker for a cheap disc that contains all of the old games I used to l enjoy so much. But I think I’m finally reaching a point where I know I need to stop buying the same Genesis games over and over again. Sega needs to move on to some newer classics. How about the Dreamcast library?

From what Alan Pritchard, Sega’s executive VP of sales and marketing, tells Game Informer, it sounds like they’re finally moving on. It sounds like we’re finally going to get a Dreamcast collection.

“We actually have a Dreamcast collection coming out soon. We are looking to bring some of the old Dreamcast games to market digitally and packaged,” Pritchard tells Game Informer. “The titles are still to be announced. The Ultimate Genesis Collection did huge numbers on PS3 and 360, so it’s an important part of our business.”

We know they’ve been testing the waters with a few digital releases on PSN and XBLA. Now they’re giving us the good stuff.CVGreminds us that there were some retail listings that gave a date of Feb 15 for a Dreamcast collection. Now I feel like I can get excited about that date.
