By now you all should have heard the rumors that a DS version ofDisgaeawas on the way, and the Internet has finallygotten its clammy talonson theFamitsupage that confirms it. What we know is that the game will be a port ofDisgaea: Hour of Darkness(orAfternoon of Darknessif you have the PSP version) and … well, do you we need more? It’sDisgaea!
Actually, one question that needs answering is this — how are they going to fit that much game into one little cart? I fear that compromises may have to be made, vis-a-vis the voice acting department. Maybe they can cram it all in, but if not, that would be a real shame, asDisgaea‘s voice work was pretty entertaining and helped flesh out a witty, if ludicrous, script. Nevertheless, I’m not one to complain about NIS making more sales — God knows those guys deserve it.
Speaking of more, two further NIS titles have been announced for the DS. The first is a game calledJigsaw World, while the second is going to be of great interest to old school tactical RPG fans with long memories. That game isRhapsody: A Musical Adventure. Ring any bells? Anyone?
Sadly, I never got to play NIS’ musical RPG, despite the fact I badly want to, so this is news that’s even better thanDisgaeato me. Being an original PlayStation release, hopefully there’s no question ofRhapsodybeing ported without hindrance, and I will finally get to indulge my love of RPGs, quirkiness, and musicals in one fell swoop. What a glorious day!
