If you’ve learned anything about me during my last year here at the ‘Toid, it’s that I constantly fantasize about the inevitable zombie apocalypse. Between my root cellar stocked with canned foods and deadly projectile weapons to my three-story personal library full of reference material — cue Max Brooks namedropping — on the subject, I’d like to think I’m well prepared for the day when Hell is finally full and the dead once again roam the Earth. However, I realize that not all of you share my passion for completely fictional scenarios, and honestly I don’t want to have to pull your asses out of the fire when shambling corpses come a-knockin’. So, with the help of my new BFF Dan Marshall, I present to you the culmination of his life’s work, the above film:How To Survive A Zombie Apocalypse. We do what we must because we can.Leigh Alexander:PORTAL. The end.Oh yeah, andDawn of Sorrow, Innocent Life, Symphony of the Night, Sonic 2, and the text adventures of the 2007 Interactive Fiction Competition.Nex:Aside from finishingPortal(greatest ending ever) andEpisode 2(greatest ending sincePortal), Team Fortress 2has taken over my life. The first online game I was ever massively addicted to wasTeam Fortress Classic, and the art style and additions made toTF2easily make it the finest multiplayer FPS available.I do miss the grenades though. Gas grenades and those spinning, nail-shooting things the soldiers carried were like finding a finger in your can of Pepsi; only the finger is made of gold, and it scratches your back whenever you have an itch.Jim Sterling:Pretty much justFable. Can you believe I never played it before? It’s okay, save for piss-poor targeting and a more linear feel than I’d hoped for. Still, not too shabby.Savant:This week has been filled with random gaming goodness! I have been investing ample amounts of time sitting in front of my Xbox 360, playingThe Halos(yeah, all 3 of ’em!),Puzzle Queston XBLA, and someskate.here and there. Most importantly though, is that I’ve rediscovered the joys of PC gaming with my newly-acquired beta account forHellgate: London. I can’t really say much due to NDA, but I can say that this is going to be one excellent title when it is completely polished.BlindsideDork:The Orange Boxis teh sex.Colette Bennett:MGS4, Silent Hill: Origins, FF Crystal Chronicles DS, and anything else I can play from the scant selection at E for All.Faith:I’ve been playingFinal Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, The Orange Box,The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessandBrain Age. I’ve also been playing around with the trial version ofPuzzle Quest. What a great game idea!Gameboi:Well let’s see… Since acquiring one of those non-gimped PS3’s I’ve pretty much played every demo available on the thing. That, and a smidgen ofMotorstorm. Other than that, it’s been about toying around withFinal Fantasy XII, and continuing with theHalo 3thing. I think that about covers it. My thoughts? The PS3 hardware seems nice (and better made than Microsoft’s piece of shit), but the online interface is nothing short of a joke. How obvious it is to all of us which company specializes in hardware, and which is the software giant.Dick McVengeance:GotDynasty Warriors Gundamin the mail, and so that’ll be collecting dust until I get throughSoul Nomad and the World Eaters. I’ve also had a staggering good time with the droplet of purest goodness that isPortal(Those turret guns are health-damagingly cute. I want one!). It’s just as much fun messing around with the physics as it is actually completing tasks and I love it to pieces.
