5th Cell’s highly anticipatedScribblenautsmight currently reside on the DS, but that doesn’t mean it’s exclusive to Nintendo’s little handheld. In fact, the studiohas revealedthat the game could conceivably go elsewhere in the future, stating that it would “definitely work” on another system.

“The concept would definitely work on other platforms as well and we’ve seen gamers from very different backgrounds pick it up and enjoy it equally,” says technical director Marius Fahlbusch. “We’ve seen both kinds of gamers instantly taking to the game, the casual gamer that played a few games before as well as hardcore ones that play nothing but the latest titles on PS3 and X360.

“But we never limited ourselves to the DS as platform in our heads and we’ll see what the future holds.”

Whatever it takes to get 5th Cell some much needed recognition and sales is fine by me. The studio is responsible for some great DS games that have truly helped set the system apart from other machines, yet their publishers never pimp them and customers rarely find out about their products. I really hopeScribblenautschanges all that. 5th Cell deserves it.
