In my recentpreview ofBorderlands, I made a few passing references to Claptrap, “a talking-robot that looks like a filthy, low-rent version ofStar Wars’ R2D2 that glides on one wheel.”
What I failed to mention was how awesome Claptrap is. Like, I think about him all of the time awesome. Despite not being a central character in the game in the game’s story (so far that I’ve noticed), the robotic guide has enough charm and wit that I have little doubt he’ll become a gamer favorite whenBorderlandsis released this October.
In this first in a series of “Making of Borderlands” videos, Claptrap takes a page from the book of Christian Bale, and in the process melts our hearts. Check it out.
