Most of this went down while Destructoid was away, but if you haven’t already heard,Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is pretty broken on the PlayStation 3. There’s a rather nasty little bug that randomly wipes your entire save file, and in a twenty hour game, that’s not nice news.Â
Players have reported booting the game up, only to get the error message, “Save file corrupt, will now overwrite, press X to continue.” From that point on, their game is deader n’ Dracula himself. Konami has stated that the bug only hits a very small amount of people, but I’m sure those affected aren’t comforted by that.
Fortunately, the publisher is aware of this issue, and has promised that a patch is on the way. It hasn’t said when that patch might arrive, but it’s coming. Just be very careful until then, okay? I’d hate for you to miss out on the masterpiece that isLords of Shadow of the Colossus.Â
