For the Xbox 360’s first foray into the karaoke game genre,Lipswasn’t too bad a start. However, there was one huge problem — you didn’t have to sing at all to win the game, which more or less countered the game’s entire existence. Plagued by a “white noise” issue, the game only required you to blow into the microphone or rake it along your couch in order to score points. Singing fans need fear no more, however, asLipsis updatingto eliminate the problem.

An upcoming update claims to have changed the scoring algorithm to eliminate “white noise scoring,” and also brings a number of other improvements to the game. Song leaderboards, a mic calibration tool to reduce lag between the visuals and the sound and a DLC news ticker are all featured in the patch, which should work together to makeLipsa much tighter experience.
