In a chat withOfficial Nintendo Magazine, Arc System Works’ Toshimichi Mori made a jab at Capcom for mapping attacks inSuper Street Fighter IV 3Dto the touch screenfor easy access.
“Super Street Fighter IV 3Dhas easy special move buttons. As hardcore fighting fans we don’t think that’s right, so we chose to display a list of combos [forBlazBlue: Continuum Shift II] instead of easy attack buttons.”
Touch-screen attacks are a matter of accessibility, which is exactly whatBlazBlue‘s list of combos is about as well. I can’t see how either design philosophy is right or wrong — they both exist, and that’s okay. But if you want to argue about it, that’s cool.
