Bit.Trip. FATEhas a “for-real” release date now; Monday October 25th, 2010. It’s also gotten a price tag; 800 Wii Points. That’s the same price asBit.Trip RUNNER, which was more than worth the money.

I think thatFATEmay go on to be my favorite game in the series. I was continually impressed with just how much personality and emotion that the developers packed managed into the shmup genre, without sacrificing any of the action. The only thing I can compare it to is the “humpin’ around” stage inR Type Final, except with even more going on.

The game’s creator says “BIT.TRIP FATE is like the Empire Strikes Back of the BIT.TRIP series. It’s a much darker episode in our hero’s life, and is full of depressing themes, dreary hidden messages, sad music, and an overall gloomy theme.  YOU’LL LOVE IT!“Â

He’s right. I love it.
