Six Days in Fallujahdeveloper Atomic Games has been forced to shrink.

In a sober announcement released earlier this afternoon, Atomic Games confirmed that it has had to “reduce the size” of the studio due to an inability to “secure full-scale funding from a major publisher” for the controversial shooter,Six Days in Fallujah.

Konami was set to distribute the title, butdropped it shortlyaftergiving press access to the shooter. A representative for the publisher cited negative opinions from others as the reason. It’s easy to understand why Konami would have received concerned e-mails and phone calls —Six Days in Fallajuhis a game that puts players in a modern day and unresolved conflict.

Atomic Games didn’t release the number of people let go, but said development at the studio “will continue with a smaller team that will be funded” by Destineer.
