Here’s your winner: Matthew “Gaymer” Brown took top honors this season, besting 11 others and winning a spot as Sony Computer Entertainment’s newest tester in its Quality Assurance department. Brown also gets a $5,000 signing bonus, a 46″ 3D Bravia television, and a limited editionThe TesterPlayStation 3 console.
I can hear you now: “Great, he gets a crappy gig with Sony doing the worst possible job in the industry. Good for him!” I hear you, but consider this: many high-profile industry veterans got their start in Sony’s QA department. Take David Jaffe, for instance — he started his career doing QA for Sony Imagesoft. You’ve heard of that guy, right? Oh, he only worked on some games you might have heard of likeGod of WarandTwisted Metal.
