A Valley Without Windis an upcoming exploration/survival title from Arcen Games. The aim is to stay alive through an ice age and the mysterious realm buried underneath as the snow starts to recede.

Originally it was a a futuristic game with “realistic” environments, but has since switched to a straight fantasy deal with science-fiction elements. It’ll feature procedurally generated interiors, something the team is quite proud of.

It’s looking rough, there’s no denying that, but the latest pre-alpha footage hints at a very clear visual ambition that, if successful, could be quite wonderful to behold. PC indie titles could go either way in terms of quality, so I’ll be keeping an eye on it. The first beta is out in July.
