If I had to guess what the highest grossing new IP of 2009 was, I probably would not have pickedDJ Hero. Nothing against Activision’s game or anything, but I didn’t think it made that big of a dent last year.
It did, though. It pulled in more than a dozen best music game awards in the US and made plenty of “best of” lists for ’09. Even more than that is the NPD Group’s ranking of the game as the number one new IP for 2009 for both North America and Europe, according to this press release we just read.
Congrats, Activision.
