In case you weren’t aware, the long-awaited release of Rockstar’s U.S.-government-taming-the-Wild-West saga,Red Dead Redemption, is only five days away. you may remind yourself of that fact by watching this epic launch trailer, which Rockstar put out today. It definitely whetted my appetite for the game, but what stuck out to me the most was the rousing score behind the video. Bill Elm and Woody Jackson composed the score, which was actually performed using instruments from the early 20th century, the period during which the game takes place....

Here’s a developer diary on the newGoldenEye 007for Wii. A lot of Dtoiders have probably already heard aboutRusty Hearts, a free-to-play, anime-inspired dungeon crawler; this year at PAX, though, Perfect World was showing off its latest project,Blacklight: Retribution, a free-to-play competitive first-person shooter. Most of the gameplay is pretty standard stuff. Before you spawn, you have the chance to choose one of several loadouts, including assault, sniper and heavy weapons. Each “class” has a few different weapons available to them, with a few more available on the map....

Having just downloaded this delicious freebie and given it a go, I can confirm that the game is rad and definitely worth a few bucks. The fact that you won’t even paythatfor the rest of the day makes it even better. InHeavy Gunner, your thumbs take control of two… heavy guns. Using your iPhone’s tilt function to look around, you then shoot incoming enemies before they crash into you....

I get the feeling I’m going to be writing a bunch more of these “Here’s a halfhearted look at this game you’re likely dying to see more of,but too bad, you’ll need to come back next week for the real deal” posts for the duration of this week.
