Things have happened on the Nintendo downloadable front. This morning ushers in one title on each of the publisher’s three digital platforms. Don’t expect the amazing, but don’t expect a clock either. The new (old) Virtual Console title isFinal Fight 2. Hitting at 800 Wii Bones, this follow-up to its smash-hit successor is much more of the same. In an odd and surprising turn, NIS America has changed the name of its PlayStation Portable titleHoly Invasion of Privacy, BadmantoWhat Did I Do To Deserve This, My Lord?!. NIS says the name change is because “the original title had a conflict of interest with an existing IP.” While the publisher doesn’t get specific, said conflict could be related in some way to DC Comics’ Batman character (although that’s not been confirmed)....

According to the latestNintendo Power, a reinvention of the classic NES oddity will be making its way to the Wii sometime in the future. When, exactly? Not sure. Will it be a remake or a revitalized version of the canceled 2005 Nintendo DS sequel?...

The sequel —Professor Layton and the Devil’s Box —is almost certainly not a hilariously pornographic alternate title for the disappointingBedazzledremake starring Elizabeth Hurley, but based on the prior title in the series and the other work of Level 5 — the series’ creators — it should at the very least be a clever, original game worthy of the attentions of anyone considered a fan of the RPG genre, the Adventure genre, or anything vomitted from the corpulent-yet-kawaii bosom of Mother Japan....

Capcom has put together a rousing trailer forResident Evil 5: Gold Edition, and you’ll find it above. It’s the same one you’ll find on their fancynew website for the game, which also launched today. The new site has details on the included new episodes that will be included in Gold Edition. Already haveResident Evil 5? These new episodes will also come as DLC later on. There’s some images on the site of the new costumes the characters can wear in Gold Edition....

Resident Evil 5’s composer, Kota Suzuki, recently took a trip to Los Angeles to record the melodramatic portion of the upcoming horror game. Suzuki utilized the 103-piece ensemble of the Hollywood Studio Symphony to lay down his tracks. At the end of the day, only fifteen minutes of music were required to fulfill the need. Scoring Sessionsreports that the music “sounded large on the stage, with frenetic orchestral driving rhythms, and strong melodic themes....
