Andy Serkis — who became a household name after bringingThe Lord of the Rings‘ Gollum to life — hascriticized gamesfor having no heart. THQ is doing really quite well of late, especially with its collection of original and promising games. White Knight Story proves the old adage “tiny nut-head platypi are dumb jerks”

The above is the latest bit of media straight from the wacky shores of Nippon showing off the PlayStation 3’s upcomingWhite Knight Story. The last clip I brought youwas the ubiquitous masturbatory CG cut scene made famous by theFinal Fantasyseries, but this piece is actual in-game footage showing off some honest-to-Ifrit gameplay.Of course, what exactly is being portrayed here is sort of up in the air. As far as I can tell, the main character of the tale is surveying a gorgeously rendered field of shrubs, grass and other such fieldworthy flora when he spies an adorable, anthropomorphized platypus wearing an oversized buckeye on his head....

App store game Armor of God rips Demon’s Souls art?

First off:LOL. Next, look at the App Store screenshots for the gameArmor of God. Right under the text “Collect the Word of God and the Holy Spirit as you avoid the evil spirits by tilting your mobile device left to right” is a familiar image. Remember the cover of PS3 gameDemon’s Souls? Yep, that’s where you’ve seen it. I’m not sure about the other game imagery, but I’m willing to bet that none of it is original....

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations trailer looks, sounds slick

At this point, I don’t need fancy trailers to sell me onAssassin’s Creed: Revelations. Sure, it’s been less than a year since I plowed throughBrotherhood, but my hunger for the series isn’t sated so easily. But when trailers are this cool, I guess I won’t complain. Backed by a slick dubstep track and cut like a music video (remember those?), I can’t piece together exactly what’s going on, but who cares: it looks awesome....

Aussie youth worker blames videogames for knife fights

In Australia, knife fights are all the rage among the kids. A youth worker has decidednotto blame the rise in knife crime on anything tangible, like poor upbringing and a lack of discipline, but has decided to blame something unrelated, because that’s a lot more trendy. Henceforth, videogames now cause knife fights. “Normally they’d have a fight and people might ring around them, and it would be one-on-one, and when one [child fell] to the ground it would be over,” says Les Twentyman, waxing nostalgic about youth combat....

Blizzard Entertainment: Making EA look like Hitler since 1991!

Earlier today, I was told I had no soul. By a nun. A dying nun. Thinking that to be true (after all, that’s a pretty damning source), I was all ready to forfeit my earthly corpus to Baal in exchange for demonic powers, up until I came acrossthis storyin theOrange County Register. After reading it, my heart grew three sizes and burst from its antiquated metal x-ray scanner, and I immediately phoned my local priest....

Canada: Today is the day you can get a free DSi XL

If you were considering getting a DSi XL — even for just a single, momentary second — and you live in, near or around Canada then you should probably pick up five relatively new games you aren’t playing anymore and head to your local (or not so local) Best Buy. For five used games you can get aDSi XL for free. The titles must have a trade-in value of at least $9, which probably means it is restricted to newer releases and popular games, but that is still quite a deal if you’re done playing them anyway....
