Yoshinori Ono has been slowly unveilingStreet Fighter X Tekken. Here at San Diego Comic-Con he showed off a few new bits of the game’s fighting system. He also showed off some changes made from feedback that came from E3. Ono says that Super Arts are back with this game, but he’s more excited about the new Super Charges. These are charge moves that do not involve gauges. You can charge up to three levels, and at its highest level you can perform a Super Art without using the Cross Gauge....

Second MLB 2K9 skit isn’t very different from the first

Well, it’s obvious now that 2K Sports is going to continue copying ESPN’s “This is SportsCenter” commercials. Remember how the first skit, “Lefty,” aped a specific ESPN ad (“The Closer”)? I couldn’t find the specific ESPN analog of this skit, but I feel like I’ve seen one before. Sony believes PS3 could top PS2’s 10 year sales

We all know how well the PS2 did, mostly because we all probably still have one. Sony managed to push 146 million of these ugly game systems out the door in ten years. Square Enix announcement event set for January 18th

There’s a big Square Enix event set for January in Japan, and Famitsu says that they’ll announce major titles there. The Square Enix 1st Production Department Premiere was set for Jan 11, but they just rescheduled it for the 18th. Starbreeze confirms cancellation of a title

One of a handful of developers that has proven it can release quality, entertaining film-based adaptations, Starbreeze Studios, has stated that one of its projects with EA has been cancelled. In a recentGI.bizreport, the studio confirmed that a pre-production phase title in partnership with the publisher has been canned — but plans are still in place to collaborate on another “big production.” Starbreeze CEO Johan Kristiansson told GI.biz that despite this cancelled project, their relationship with EA is “stronger than ever,” and “the aim now is to spend more resources on the game” — one of the two the duo had planned — “that demonstrated the greatest potential....

TGS: The amazing Metal Gear Solid and Zone of Ender toys

Guys, I’m scared. Going around Japan for the past week has increased my urge to get into action-figure collecting. I even bought a Gundam in Akihabara!
