The newest and quite possibly the last Dreamcast gameWind and Water: Puzzle Battlesis slated for release in late August or early September this year. According to the game’sofficial website,W&Wis a puzzle game with a “balance of strategy and action” that will satisfy the hardcore and casual enthusiast alike. The packaging for the title has recently been finished, and will include a manual in both Japanese and English. The basic premise of the title is to match up similar colored blocks in the largest increments as possible....

Remember a while backwe were talkingabout the newTurokgame’s list of Xbox 360 achievements? Remember that one of them, “Grab Bag,” essentially rewarded you for griefing? If you may’t recall, or are too lazy to click on links, the “Grab Bag” achievement rewards you ten points if you kill an enemy, a team-mate and yourself in a public online multiplayer match. Yes … it’s a chaotic disaster waiting to happen, really....

Yesterday we learned therather stunning newsthat Activision was ending the Guitar Hero franchise, along withTrue Crime: Hong Kong. Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg explained the reasoning behind the cull, whichCVGhas transcribed. “After two years of steeply declining sales, we’ve made the decision to close our Guitar Hero business unit and discontinue development on our previously playingGuitar Herotitle for 2011,” said Hirshberg. “Despite a remarkable 92 rating onDJ Hero 2, a widely well-regardedGuitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, as well as the 90-plus rated release from our most direct competitor, demand for peripheral-based music games declined at a dramatic pace....

Assassin’s Creed IIallegedly suffers from a game-breaking glitch, which is weird, because I thought the game wasplenty broken already. In any case, thisparticular bugis said to have dire consequences for any player who falls into its trap, forcing victims to completely restart the game from scratch. Having to play through itonceis bad enough, so this is understandably terrible news. Apparently, if you turn your console off directly after the autosave that follows Chapter 11’s completion, you could ruin your whole save file....

Atlus has sent along a vague email that tells us some of what they have in store for us at E3 next week. You could have probably guessed one of them. Not too long agowe told youthat Frozenbyte and Atlus were teaming up for a digital release. And not too long before that it was revealed that Frozenbyte was working onTrine 2. So guess what? This new Xbox 360 is just grand. In fact, I’d even go so far as to say it’s the bee’s knees. Not too long ago, Sega let sliptheir plans for the coming year. So far, a number of things listed in the leaked document have come true, the latest of which being the inclusion of Banjo and Kazooiein Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. The bear and bird will be appearing in the Xbox 360 version of the game, as indicated by the box art foundby TSSZ. The box covers were discovered on Sega’s servers, but have since been taken down....

Bethesda hit the downloadable content sweet spot with their “Knights of the Nine” expansion forOblivion. In a recent conversation withGamasutra, Bethesda’s vice president Pete Hines spoke about the experimental approach the studio took withOblivion’sinconsistently price and sized DLC and how they’re applying what they’ve learned toFallout 3. “We did the entire spectrum for the most part. We did small things and then we did the really huge thing [with The Shivering Isles for Oblivion],” Hine said....

A recent interview has confirmed thatBioShock 2will be receiving downloadable content after it launches next month. According to 2K Marin’s Kent Hudson, the studio is working on some “aggressive” DLC plans as we speak. “Absolutely,” says Hudson, when asked if DLC is coming. “We are working on pretty aggressive plans for DLC and that’s actually something that is already underway. That is something that is mostly being run out of the Marin studio because like I said the Australian studio is already ramping up on the next big thing....
