On top of that, it’s not even a full retail title, instead a game in the PlayStation Network digital download space, where smaller games are often looked at as being of dubious quality. But the film opened to great reviews from fans of action flicks, many of them gamers themselves. So in name alone,Kick-Asshad already caught the attention of its target audience....

Own a PlayStation 3 and having an issue withGrand Theft Auto IV‘s? Rockstar may finally have the fix, having just released a new patch that “prevents Gamespy’s servers from being overloaded and therefore reduces the impact on those servers that were causing the game to stutter and lock up.” All of that is quite a mouthful, but whatever gets the job done, right? Rockstar says they will continue to monitor performance both on and offline and will provide further updates if necessary....

The Internet was ablaze with speculation yesterday that the PlayStation Network’s downtime for scheduled maintenance (from 11 AM to 5 PM EDT) meant that PS3 system software v2.40 was not too far in the offing. Now, we have some seemingly concrete details on the update’s release window, as well as the new features it will provide. A little bird told CVG that we should expect to see the launch of v2....

We haven’t been able to get our hands onWhite Knight Chroniclesfor very long, but what we have seen we liked. There may be even more where that came from too — Famitsu reported this morning that there may be a sequel in the works. In an article about the 2nd Wave update to the game, there was a tiny snippet of text that referred to “a sequel being made”. Considering that Japan has had the first game since last Christmas, this is great news for them if it is what it appears to be, but we won’t see it for ages if it is coming....

This might just be the European release date, but nobody’s actually confirmed that yet. Frankly, justoneday of waiting is too much. Luckily, publisher Warner Bros. has launched anew official Web sitefor the game in order to stave off our rampant hunger. It’s full of neat stuff such as wallpapers, ringtones and a screensaver....

I’m pretty psyched for the sequel toStreet Fighter High, which will apparently be a musical. It looks like they’ve upped the ante all around; more characters (including some from Marvel), more comedy, and more violence. Even if you didn’t like the original (Hamza), I’m betting this reboot will be worth your time. Not convinced? Well then, at least watch the trailer above for long enough to see Juri give El Fuerte a swift kick in the ribs....

I love the fact that there are tons of gamer t-shirts out there, but the stuff that really makes me flip my lid is a tad more fashion forward, such as a pair of heels with Pac-Man printed on them or the bag above which I am experiencing titanic waves of arousal over....

Hatsune Miku is a popular digital songstress fromVocaloid, a Yamaha voice synthesizer that allows people to “sing” simply by inputting lyrics and melodies. This is relevant, because the green-haired diva has beensnapped up by Segaand is appearing in her own PSP music game,Hatsune Miku -Project Diva-. Sega has been promoting the game by talking up the “3D modeling” for Miku, and as you can seefrom the screenshots, there’s a very good reason for that....

There’s going to be a huge 3DS event in New York City tomorrow, and our own Nick Chester is planning to be there to report on everything that goes down. In the meantime, I’m freaking out. ThePlayStation Network outageand subsequent announcement that an “external intrusion” is to blame has caused more than a little consternation among gamers. More than being unable to play their favorite games online, PS3 owners have a new worry — is their credit card information in the wrong hands? It’s a good question, and Sony … doesn’t know. The company is said to be “investigating” this issue, but right now, it has no clue how much info any would-be hacker might have....

As of right now, Sony’s PlayStation Network is only available on the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Portable. Oh, and the PC, sort of. But they’re looking to go bigger, says Sony CEO Howard Stringer, moving onto other devices. As far as what devices they’re aiming for, we’ll just have to wait and see. In an interview withNikkei Electronics Asia, Stringer lets on that they need the Network to be on more devices, as the PS3 install base limits the possible scale....
