Ha! F*ck yeah, Voltron! THQ and World Events Productions are teaming up to publish a series of Voltron games based on the Voltron: Defender of the Universe cartoon series from our childhoods. This will tie into a revival of Voltron, and it all kicks off with a new CGI series show called Voltron Force, which will start later this year on television. Some new toys are also coming. Licensed games are usually nothing to get excited about, but this one has interlocking robot lions....

Although adventure games are slightly less few and far between than they used to be, the average adventure fan is still silently waiting for the slightest sign of a title he (or she!) can point and click his way through. Most of those same fans are familiar withBroken Sword, a history/archeology adventure series that started in 1996. I haven’t played a Broken Sword game sinceThe Shadow of the Templarson GBA ( see picture above) but it looks like I might get to try it again very soon: according to a listing on German ratings website USK, Ubisoft will be continuing the series and it will be coming to the DS and the Wii....

I swear to God, that wasn’t a euphemism when I wrote it. Behold the launch trailer forAlice: Madness Returns, arriving in a scant two weeks to all gaming devices capable of containing its magnificence. I have to say, I wasn’t excited even in the slightest for this game but the recent blast of video content released for it has turned my head in a big way. In a month positively packed with quality games, it’s hard to imagine finding the time for all of them and I’m just not sure I can fit one more in....

Level Up Studios has created this really cool T-shirtthat has an Augmented Reality card image built right in. This lets you use your Nintendo 3DS to play games on someone’s chest. This also lets you leave the AR card at home. Mine are all bent up from being in my pocket. You’ll find a video demonstration of this $17.99 T-shirt above. It works perfectly. I love that you can see a dragon coming out of the chest of the wearer of this shirt....

I admit that I’ve not seen a great deal ofAsura’s Wrath, but everything I have seen just looks so … so angry. The game seems to be about nothing more than looking weird and flipping out over everything at all times. Wait a minute, that sounds pretty cool. Here are some new screenshots for you, in any case. I’m keeping my fingers crossed forAsura’s Wrath. It looks like my jam, but games of this nature are always a coin-toss as to whether or not they’re great....

Last year, when Destructoid’s staff laid dibs on the survivors inLeft 4 Dead, Isaw things in Francisthat nobody else did. They were so quick to write him off as the least desirable survivor and that simply was not the case. I still feel confident that I made the right decision and Francis was my partner for most every game I played. Now that I have watched myassociatesunnecessarilymalignEllis, I once again feel compelled to not only defend the underdog but to show why he is clearly the best possible choice....

Oh yes, the wait forBatman: Arkham Asylumis nearly at an end with the game releasing this week. To celebrate the Dark Knight’s return to games, Eidos has released this launch trailer. There’s a bit of new footage and a whole lot of the Caped Crusader using his “detective mode” vision to view some of the exemplary review scores the game has received up to this point. Whether or not you feel that they’ve been tainted by the accusations of score-fixing on the part of Eidos, you can’t deny that the scores we’ve seen so far are very high indeed....

(No pun intended.) Last night, the single-player campaign ofBattlefield: Bad Company 2premiered onGameTrailers TV, and boy, does it look awesome. The trailer above (NSFW language) shows off plenty of explosions — just the kind of stuff that can destroy buildings, thanks to the game’s Frostbite engine. Story-wise, it appears that it’s going to be a typical military excursion: the mission seems simple enough, but nothing’s ever as easy as it sounds, and before you know it, the whole operation is FUBAR....

I’m clearing my schedule later this month to playPunch-Out!!on the Wii. I don’t care what else is going on. If it’s pre-E3 events, I’ll send someone else. If there’s zombie apocalypse, I’ll board up my house while I swing my Wii Remote and nunchuk left and right. I’m determined to step into the shoes of Little Mac again, and nothing is going to stop me. The latest Nintendo Channel update brings us a pretty nice behind-the-scenes video ofPunch-Out!...

tri-Ace and Konami are working together to bring us a new 3DS title,Beyond the Labyrinth, and it looks incredibly pretty. It’s been described as a dungeon RPG, though any further details are hard to come by. Anofficial site is open, with a very nice sample of the soundtrack. Otherwise, all we have are these screens fromFamitsu, which have a shade of Team ICO about them. Bleak, but in a rather beautiful way....

Just like any other game system, we knew that someone in Japan or China would eventually crack open Nintendo’s latest. Yep, the one that made us ask “What? Why!?” when we heard about it. It’s the DSi LL, the bigger DSi with bigger screens. Japanese sitePC Watchcracked one open, prodded it, and gave their thoughts. There was some divide there on the new screens. Younger staff members were bitching about the pixels being more apparent while older ones liked that they could see it better?...

Capcom’s next-genBionic Commandoconsole game might have been a “miss” both critically and at retail, but most were in agreement that its digital download counterpart,Bionic Commando Rearmed, was an astounding success. So gamers should be excited to learn that a sequel,Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, is headed to Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network. The sequel finds Nathan Spencer going head-to-head against a new enemy, General Sabio, a “technologically sophisticated” bad dude looking to launch a fatal missile attack....
