Marvel Universe MMO details surface, will be free to play

Destructoid attended the Gazillion press conference the other day where they revealed new details on their next MMO,Marvel Universe. While we have no clue as to what the game looks like, we do know it’s taking on the free-to-play business model. Additionally, the MMO will let you play as actual Marvel characters as opposed to making up new heroes. While they wouldn’t go into specifics, we do know you’ll be able to play as Wolverine, Captain America, Spider-Man and Squirrel Girl....

Metro 2033 ‘Ranger Pack’ out this week

Back in May,THQ told usthat a downloadable content pack forMetro 2033would be available “soon.” By “soon,” it meant August, apparently — the DLC in question, “The Ranger Pack,” is out tomorrow on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and Steam. The pack will add a new “Ranger Mode” to the game, which reduces the ammunition available to the player while increasing damage and the number of enemies encounter. Also, say goodbye to the HUD, as it’s stripped away for this more “realistic” mode....

Monsteca Corral has ‘ambient feel’ of Flower, Pikmin

How does an indie developer grab our attention? Well, throw around the names of games like Flower and Pikmin, of course. Developer Onteca is saying its upcoming WiiWare title, Monsteca Corral, will have the “ambient feel of games such asFlowerandPikminwith the excitement of Wii.” While that stuff doesn’t necessarily compute, it’s certainly a nice sentiment. Monsteca Corral has players controlling a herd of monsters called the Sdompes, who are too stupid to guide themselves through the migration process....

News flash: a lot of people bought Xbox 360s last week

As expected, people bought things during Black Friday. While we’d love to give you a comprehensive report on the number of GE blenders sold during the American free-for-all, it just wouldn’t fit with the rest of the content on our Web page. What does, though, is Aaron Greenberg’s broad announcement of Xbox 360 sales during the week of Black Friday (which, by the way, seems like something the platform publisher should be celebrating soon)....

Get excited or something. This week we see the release ofBIT.TRIP.VOID, an important videogame as noted by its profuse punctuation and all capitalization, and the venerableSuper Mario Kart....
