While I was at the Fusion event for the Wii at the Nintendo World Store yesterday, I stopped a few of the people fresh off their experience with the Wii. Since you’ve seen plenty of jaded gaming journalists speak on it, now you can see what the average gamer/Nintendo fan thinks.

Asreported, this Monday sees the release ofSuper Metroid(Super NES, 1 player, 800 Wii Points) for Nintendo’s virtual console. Easily one of the greats among a solid Super NES library, the game is worth at least double the price Nintendo is charing for admission. I seem to recall paying $60 for this game, and that seemed like a bargain at the time. Joining Samus Aran this week will be Joe Musashi (who has the best name for a ninja … ever) inShinobi III: Return to the Ninja Master(Sega Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points), andNeutopia(TurboGrafx-16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points), a game that was clearly modeled after Nintendo’s popularLegend of Zelda....

It’s not often when you hear about girls getting good service in the quest for virtual love, so it’s really rather grand to hear good things about visual novelsfor the ladiesgetting some love and attention. That’s certainly the case withTokimeki Memorial: Girls’ Side: 3rd Story, the next girl-oriented spinoff of Konami’s legendary dating sim franchise. It’s so big, apparently, thatthe developers were forced to cram it into the near-mythical four-gigabit DS cartridge....

Runic Games’ 2009 action RPGTorchlightwas a bit of a success on the PC. It’s XBLA release was equally successful and many had assumed that theupcoming sequelwould also find it’s way to consoles. However, it seems thatTorchlight 2exceeds XBLA’s memory limit and, at the moment, Runic’s not sure how they’re going to handle it. CEO Max Schaefer says that, since they’re such a small studio, “[They’re] very consciously trying to focus on one thing at a time and at the moment it’s getting Torchlight 2 out for the PC....
