TheHalo: Reachmultiplayer trailer has finally landed and oh my god does this look good. Diving rolls, assassinations, new weapons and so much more. Is that a sticky grenade launcher? Crazy! Half-way into the video, we catch a glimpse of the new multiplayer modes such as Invasion and Headhunter. We get to see some of the new equipment items too, such as the jetpack and a personal Bubble Shield-type device. I’m loving what I’m seeing here....

Here, have some random Spongebob Rock Band DLC

Last Friday, we passed along information about this week’sRock BandMusic Store update, which included The White Stripes, Kasabian, and The Damned. Well, surprise — there’s more. Today, three additional tracks appeared on theRock BandMusic Store — Spongebob Squarepant’s “A Day Like This,” “Employee of the Month,” and “Ridin’ The Hook.” Also known as “exactly what you’ve been waiting for sinceRock Bandwas released in November of 2007.” This brings the total number of Spongebob songs in Rock Band up to (I believe) six, whereas the total number of playable Radiohead tracks is… two?...

Huge videogame etymology study is educational and awesome!

There are some gamers who just play games without giving any part of them outside of what is immediately going on any further thought. Then there are others who play games and wonder, as they stomp a Koopa, where did this thing’s name come from? Blogger Drew Mackie is one of the latter types. He has recently completed what was originally intended to be an innocently small study on the origins of various names and words that appear in some popular videogames....

I don’t know where Robox came from but I want it

That’s a trailer for an upcoming WiiWare game calledRobox. It’s the first project by a small, Spanish development house called Dream Box and I think I’m in love with it. First, it looks absolutely beautiful. Second, the character you control is, far as I can tell, a pile of junk. Most important, however, it appears to have some intriguing gameplay. Check out the use of an item at about 1:00 and start imagining more possibilities....

Indie Nation #27: Cowboyana

I highlight this week’s Indie Nation game with a slight hint of sadness: as much as I enjoy this game, I am more or less incapable of playing it any more, now that I am back home. You see,Cowboyanais a mandatory two-player game: on the same keyboard, each player controls a gunslinger throughout about twenty different vignettes. Will you cooperate, or destroy each other? Will you pour the other a drink, or shoot him dead as he holds the bottle?...
