Now Kinect can put a keyboard almost anywhere

That’s a musical keyboard, not the computer input device. This interesting use of the Kinect camera allows for one to place a musical keyboard pretty much anywhere at all. Check out the video above and you’ll see what I mean. When you think about it, this isn’t anything too particularly special. Just an impressive demonstration of defining areas of interactivity within a 3D space. But it scores massive bonus points for making it easier to recreate that amazing piano scene inBigwith actually having to find (and then possibly dispense with) a giant keyboard....

OverClocked Remix celebrates its 10 year anniversary

1999-2009. Game music remix siteOverClocked Remixis 10 years old now. This takes me back… I’ve been around since the beginning, when the site was orange and brown and ugly and lovable in that kid brother kind of way.I started submitting sh*tty remixesin 2000. Kind of even made a bit of a name for myself for a bit. I grew up with OverClocked Remix, so it’s kind of special to me. And look at it now....

PAX 10: The Force Unleashed 2 multiplayer thrill ride

It was the weirdest thing. On the first day of PAX, I marched down to the LucasArts area of the show floor to check outThe Force Unleashed 2. While I was down there, I had a chance meeting with a developer from Red Fly, the studio responsible for the Wii version of the game. We chatted about how the Wii version ofGhostbusterslooked better than the PS3/360 version, some of the games we grew up with, all sorts of stuff....

PEGI ratings portrayed by silly fake videogame

This one almost slipped by us, but if you ask me, shirtless mustachioed not-Marios are a timeless commodity. To help parents make appropriate, informed buying decisions when it comes to games, a few short videos about the subject have been created. They humorously show what the PEGI ratings mean — well, kind of. The end result is pretty damn silly, and admittedly rather enjoyable; if these clips were from a real game, I wouldsoplay it....

Preview: Deca Sports 2

Hudson surprised us all and had a little setup at the Konami Gamer’s Day last week, where it was showing off three of its upcoming games. Well, I should say they had over 12 games if you want to count all ten new games appearing inDeca Sports 2as separate titles. What better way to sell a game by saying there’s ten games on one CD? (Seriously, it works all the time at my retail job....

PS2 turns lucky seven, Sony gushes about the past

Just last week the anti-Sony brigade were busy foaming at the mouth when Deutsche Bank (no, I didn’t make that wonderful name up) analyst Jeetil Patelcommentedon September’s NPD results — and how they signaled to him at least, the ending of a great era for the PlayStation 2. Well that was last week, and this week Sony strikes back with a little “chin music” of their own concerning the colossal juggernaut that is the PS2....

PSA: It’s the final day of Steam’s ludicrous sale

As you are no doubt aware, Valve made our holiday season a little more ridiculous than usual by instigatinga service-wide salethat I would happily label asstupid. The amount of money to be saved bordered on the retarded, and if you’re a PC gamer with an eye for a bargain, let it be known that today is the last day of this glorious era of thrift. To celebrate, Valve has listed the best deals on offer as part of an “encore” presentation....
