McFarlane Toys has been making toys based onHalosince the third game and they’re not planning on stopping anytime soon especially withHalo: Reachon the way. On top of the Noble Team statue they designed to be part of the “Legendary Edition” of the game, McFarlane will be coming out with theHalo: ReachSeries 1 figures based on characters from the story, multiplayer and the vehicles. The new figures feature around 25 points of articulation and will be out this September with the vehicles coming out later in the Fall....

Another day, another list of top ten games for 2009. We’ve hadTime, we’ve had theAssociated Press, and now Metacritic has joined in on the fun to list the best reviewed games of 2009. Unsurprisingly, PS3 exclusiveUncharted 2: Among Thievestakes the top spot. Modern Warfare 2manages to take two slots, while the PS3 version ofBraidactually gets on the list too. Broken down by platform, Sony’s black box o’ Blu-ray had the best reviewed games all year followed by the PC and then the Xbox 360....

Last weekwas full of violence asKaroshi(Japanese for “death by overwork”) brought us countless levels involving suicide strategies. If you thought that was the peak of Japanese odd vocabulary and Japanese-themed games, well, then you haven’t played many Japanese games before. Bizarre games like this get passed around behind the scenes at Dtoid pretty often, but after seeing this one today I just had to share. Mortal Kombat‘s obligatory limited edition wasannounced yesterday, but we lacked images. Now we have a picture of the thing in all its glory, and holy nipples, that looks like some neat swag! TheMortal Kombat Kollector’s Editionboasts an art book, some “classic” costume DLC, and a sweet Scorpion/Sub-Zero figure. Just check out the Scorpion in the pics. I’m no fighting game player, but I want to pick this up just to have that thing on my desk....

I wasn’t expecting much when I saw this video forMytran Wars. Just another PSP strategy game. However, this actually looks quite cool, with a very unique style and what almost looks like a sense of humor. I haven’t switched my PSP on since I used it to watch a movie on my last plane ride, so I’ll take anything I can get at this point. You have my vote,Mytran Wars....
