Them shoes is hot, yo

Some people are stupid forshoes. It’s a known fact. But do gamers care about shoes? They might after seeing these wicked kicks. I dig the red laces. Check out the pics below for a little bit of translucent sole action with Yoshi. Where’s my stiletto spiked heels with Tetris print blocks? Time to get out the arts and crafts box, I think. This is why we can’t have nice things

Oh, marketing. Apparently, The Edinburgh Zoo has “teamed up” with Activision to promoteX-Men Origins: Wolverine. That picture only tells you half of the story. According to the press release, the Edinburgh Zoo also changed that poor little wolverine’s name to Logan out of “respect” for the mutant. We’re left in the dark as to how receptive he was to the name change, but we’re guessing he’s happy with it. Just look at how happy he is....

This Super Meat Boy footage is highly impressive

Taking into consideration the fact that I don’t need fancy graphics to “wow” me, yeah, the first official gameplay footage ofSuper Meat Boywas impressive. Sometimes less is more, and that’s certainly the case for this upcoming WiiWare platformer. For instance, one cool new feature is the addition of warp zones which take you to an 8-bit version of the level you were just playing. Besides the obvious cosmetic changes, these simplified worlds make you “play by old school rules....

This thing that I do: Tecmo Koei’s Chin Soon Sun

[Introducing “This thing that I do”, a new piece on Destructoid where I interview people who work in the industry or people who have achieved something worth taking note of to give us a little insight into how it all works.] With the growth of the Internet came an entirely new job role to the games industry, the role of the Community Manager. It is a roll that many companies, websites, publishers or developers believe to be absolutely critical while some still refuse to believe the job is even necessary at all....

A folder called “honest hearts” contained a number of in-game graffiti textures not seen in Dead Money or New Vegas proper,[SPOILER AHEAD]with phrases like “Joshua Graham Lives,” “The Burned Man Walks,” and “Where’s New Canaan, Anyway....

Transformers: War for Cybertron getting patched soon

Transformers: War for Cybertronis getting ludicrous amounts of playtime for me, and with such a promising multiplayer mode, I’m glad that High Moon Studios is going to support the game with patches. The only downside is that host migration still isn’t on the cards, which is arguably the biggest issue so far. High Moon announced the patch within the game itself via the online lobby’s news ticker. Details aren’t fully revealed, but we know that at least one host-related issue is being addressed — players will no longer lose XP if a host quits a match....

Uninvited – The Quest for the Red Jewel

I shouldn’t need much of an excuse to post links to Albino Black Sheep, but luckily I have an excellent excuse in the form of Reaprar, who reminded me the site existed by sharing with our tips line possibly the greatest flash game ever made —Uninvited – The Quest for the Red Jewel. I honestly couldn’t give a stuff that this is old, so you can shove your “old game is old” witticisms up your stupid arses....

Watch Captain Viridian pwn Super Meat Boy

It was really cool to see the Pink Knight (fromCastle Crashers) and the Ninja (fromN+) in the XBLA version of the game, but they didn’t play all that differently from Meat Boy. More so, they didn’t make the excruciating task of getting a 100% on the game (and getting that final unlockable character) all that much easier. That’s why I’m not that sad to see them swapped out for these new characters in the PC version of the game....

Why can’t Sonic Team make a good game? Rediscovered revelations give sad insight

Back in 2006, a man was blogging about the problems of Sega while nobody batted an eyelid. His name, though unknown at the time, was Ben Andac, and he worked as a game evaluator and Admissions and Recruitment Executive for both Sega Europe and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. His words were written anonymously and on an inconspicuous blog, but the posts all vanished after an early, teasing reference to a “transforming Evil ‘Night’ Sonic who looks like a werewolf and can stretch his arms out Dhalsim-style....
