Playing with Mii on the Wii
As you’ll see, we’ve just played around a bit with Mii. Kinda cute and fun. Will be interesting to see how it is once online is finalized.

Now that we have the skinny on the PlayStation Vita and the excellent lineup of titles that they have coming for it, you may be asking yourself where you’re able to lay your money down. It seems that Amazon is quickest on the draw, with product pages for the handheld all set to accept your pre-orders. I have yet to actually see most of the coverage surrounding the device, but Dale North has been hyping it to me all night and it’s making me very hopeful for the future of the console....
Thisis the Scarface video we’re talking about: It’s pretty awesome. This week, the regular cast minus Brad discussed PAX East, the 3DS, and a bunch of listener questions.
Oh lawd. Casting-wise, Podtoid 55 is admittedly all over the map. Tiff came down with a case of the sniffles, and was summarily replaced byAshley Davis, and Aaron was initially replaced byTopher Cantleruntil he came backjust to rub his Left 4 Dead exclusive in my face. Then Jim’s alarm didn’t go off, so he doesn’t show up until halfway through the episode. Complications ahoy! Still, though, I think it’s a pretty sexy episode (which can be foundhere,of course)....
After checking outTheOregon Traillast week at Gameloft’s New York offices, the developer also took the time to show me another one of their iPhone titles,Let’s Golf. As expected,Let’s Golfis a (are you sitting down?) golf title, one that to my delight draws much inspiration from theHot Shots Golfseries. From the game’s art-style to its intuitive and familiar touch-based controls, fans of Sony’s golf titles should feel right at home. The swing system is simple and feels natural — you tap once to start a meter, again to set, and then a third time to stop it in a “sweet spot....
Shiren the Wandereris…wandering over to the Wii here in the US, thanks to Atlus. The wander was more of a guided movement, which is good, because the popular Japanese dungeon crawling RPG series has seen little light in this country. A DS version of this Wii game did come out some time ago (released by Sega), but this Wii version has seen many changes, some of which Atlus shared with the games press recently....
Finally. The game with everyone’s favorite royal womanizer is available through the magic of digital distribution. Ubisoft Montreal’sPrince of Persiareboot can be downloaded via Impulse, Stardock’s digital download platform. It’s priced at a lean thirty bucks: a sweet tag for a game we lauded last holiday season. The system requirements forPrince of Persiaaren’t out of this world if you have a newer rig. You’ll need to be packing at least 2 GB of RAM ( Vista ), a decent video card and a total of 9 GB of hard drive space....
Sneaky bastards, sneaking in a notification system through firmware updates! Wait, what does this do? It’s not a big deal. The new system allows Sony to communicate with the whole PlayStation Network and everyone on it.PlayStation Lifecaught one going out from PSN id [PSN] that told everyone on the network (presumably) that a demo upgrade forEarthworm Jim HDhad been fixed. Uh, thanks? BAM! Spam on your game system! To be fair, PSL says that the message also contained an attachment that took them right to the PS Store to download the update....
Good news for fans of things with four wheels and dirt: Disney Interactive has announced that a demo for their upcoming off-road racer,Pure, will be coming to Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network this September. But if you’re not willing to wait, a pre-order demo disc will be available at several major retailers starting tomorrow, August 15. We got our hands on the demo last week, which offers up a tutorial and one complete track from the game’s Italy setting....
After staring at these new images ofPuzzle Chroniclesfor entirely too long, I have come to a conclusion: I still don’t know how the hell this game works. It’s coming to us from thePuzzle Questfolks, so the hybrid RPG/puzzle nature of the game is a given. But even after re-readingBen’s preview, I still can’t seem to make any sense of how battles go down. As long as lessons were learned fromGalactrixand the same mistakes aren’t made twice, I’ll be along for the ride....
Since Sony announced last week that the arcade classicQ-bertwas coming out this week for the PlayStation 3’s PlayStation Network ($4.99), some of you may have forgotton how f’ing hard this game was. I hardly ever played the damn thing because I could never really get that far — and I was a cheap bastard of a kid, so plunking down quarter after quarter wasn’t an option.Thankfully, the guys over atScrewAttackhave this video to show us the pain that we’ve been missing out on all these years....
A former QA tester for Take-Two Interactive, Aaron Martinez, might have exposed the company’s harsh treatment of their testers. Martinez is in the process of suing Take-Two for a number of reason such as not being completely paid for the work they’ve done and that Take-Two did not allow the testers to take “required off duty meal and rest breaks.” Take-Two are sticking by their guns and saying that they’ve all been paid and that they were given rest breaks in accordance with the law....
Surprise surprise, Remedycannot commentonAlan Wake. The game that has been in development since man first learned to walk upon his hind legs hasno newsthat can be shared with us. The world spins off its axis in shock. “I can not tell you anything aboutAlan Wakeright now, not even progress onAlan Wake,” claims Oskari Häkkinen, head of franchise development. Whether or not that means an announcement is being saved for an upcoming event, or there’s simplynothingto say, is anybody’s guess....
