Alienware is proud to show off its Curve display here at CES. At the width of about two 24″ monitors side by side, it’s turning a lot of heads. An Alienware rep explained that this is display is runningCrysisat a resolution of 2880 by 900. The rear projection DLP display isn’t final yet, and it definitely has some issues to overcome (depth of image, vertical bars), but its quick response time and immersiveness will win you over quickly....
Riot Games, maker of PC online battle arena gameLeague of Legends, has announced that Chinese internet services provider Tencent has acquired a majority stake in their company. We still don’t know what this means financially, but the day-to-day operations will remain independent, and the current management will stay in charge. Back in 2008, Tencent licensedLeague of Legendsfor the Chinese market. A release says that Riot plans to hire aggressively for their offices in 2011 while maintaining their Los Angeles main officese....

This is exactly the news I’ve been desperately waiting to hear. Devil’s Third, the over-the-top new third-person shooter from Valhalla Game Studios and Tomonobu Itagaki, looks promising. All it took was asingle trailer— which, really, is all we’ve gotten so far — to tell us what we needed to know: there’s Itagaki-level action, melee combat, and high-flying ninja dudes. There was just one problem. The game looked rough around the edges, to put it nicely....
