iPhone shooter N.O.V.A coming to other systems

N.O.V.Ais one of the big titles people use to demonstrate the iPhone’s potential for gaming, and it’s hardly surprising. Although I’ve only played the Lite version, it works surprisingly well as a touch-screen FPS and it looks pretty damn good, too. Despite being an iPhone poster-boy, however,N.O.V.Amay very well be coming to other platforms. “It’s an idea we want to build cross-platform,” says Gameloft VP Gonzague de Vallois. “So you can expect to see it on new systems in the future....

Is Captain Rainbow a sordid sex marathon?

I really believe (and hope) that this is one sick mind reading too much into things, but if it’s not then the Wii is taking a perverse turn for the erotic withCaptain Rainbow— a potential powder keg of smug and degradation the likes of which my fair Christian eyes have ne’er before witnessed. According to reader Josh, the above video has Birdo trapped in a cage and only proof that she is a woman will set her free (Josh suggests Birdo was caught using the woman’s restroom and mistaken for a man....

Level 1-1 done in Reggie!, a New Super Mario Bros. editor

New Super Mario Brothers Wiihas been out for, oh, about 48 hours, but the Wii homebrew scene is already on the case: GBAtemp user Tanks hasrecreated Level 1-1 from the originalSuper Mario Brosusing aNSMBlevel editor calledReggie!, developed by a user named Treeki. I don’t know much about homebrewing or modding, but I do know something cute and nostalgic when I see it. Level 1-1 is kind of played out by now—if a level editor exists for any game, it is a divine rule of the universe that Level 1-1 must be recreated—but it’s an impressive, and rather hasty, effort nonetheless....

Liberty City gets Google Maps treatment

God bless Rockstar for including a gigantic fold-out map of Liberty City with every copy ofGrand Theft Auto IV. Without it, I might have never been able to find that bar to get theQUB3Dachievement.
