Focus Home Interactive has released some new screens for its promising downloadable RPG,Faery: Legends of Avalon. In case you didn’t readour impressions, this is a roleplaying game for XBLA and PSN and it casts you in the role of a little winged freak. These screens show a game with an incredibly strong visual style and from what I’ve heard of the gameplay, it seems like my kind of title. Plus it’s the closest you’ll ever get toFern Gully: The Game— and I don’t meanthis piece of crap....
Bethesdahas releasedthe minimum and recommended specs forRAGEon PC. It’s a gorgeous looking game, designed to showcase the new id Tech 5 engine, so you’ll want to make sure your computer’s swanky enough to take advantage of it if you care about such things … and you surely do. Of all Bethesda’s releases this year, the buzz aroundRAGEseems to have simmered down the most. I’m still pretty pumped for it, though, and I’m hoping we get a really excellent game....

Detailing its upcoming Xbox Live Marketplace releases, Microsoft has revealed the release date for “The Rock” map pack for THQ’sHomefront. Fans of the first-person shooter can grab the 400 MS Point pack on August 28. Last week, THQ revealed the map pack, which will feature four multiplayer maps, including one set in Alcatraz. I wasn’t a huge fan of the game’s single-player, but developer Kaos Studios definitely pulled together a tight multiplayer experience....

I mean, we have a guy here who based on the words of Rev Anthony, suffered through a beating and a bird attack just to get something that Rev likes. The power of words, eh? Perhaps if Sony Japan had listened to Western concerns, the PS3 might have had a better time of it when it launched over here. According to PS3 developer Insomniac, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has always had a hard time paying attention to outside markets, which has led to problems in the past. However, SCEJ apparently listens now, which is nice. “The challenge has always been that the [PS3] operating system (XMB) has always been developed in Japan, and at first it didn’t seem like it reacted to the US and European markets,”says community managerJames Stevenson....
