Games has announced the upcoming release ofGreed Corpfor PlayStation Network.Greed Corpis a turn-based strategy game in which players control one of four corporations raping the environment in the name of profits and survival. It features over ten hours of play in the single-player campaign as well as 36 multiplayer maps which support up to four players and the abillity to play with both local and online players at the same time....

This here is two news pieces in one, thanks to the slippery tongue of Netherlands-based developer, Engine Software. Yesterday, the company announced their first project for Nintendo’s upcoming Wii downloadable game service, WiiWare. Tentatively titledProject Bang!, this (surprise!) “casual” game is said to use the Wii remote’s unique functionality, and will contain a two-player battle mode. Engine Software reveals no further information about the game itself, but instead steals its own thunder by dropping information about the service its being delivered on....

Facepalms at the ready, kids! The writer of such movies asSlitherandDawn of the Dead, James Gunn,is looking for actorsto star in an original show made especially for the Xbox Live Marketplace. Pegged as the “wacky adventures of a group of friends,” I somehow can’t believe this is going to end well. One of the roles advertised is that of “Girl in Bikini,” who needs to be portrayed by someone who is “super-hot, good with comedy,” and must be able to “look great in bikini....

A demo getting releasedbeforea teaser? “Surely you are mistaken,” you must think. Well, we aren’t. Sort of. It appears thatNo Mutants Allowed, the premiereFalloutfansite on the Internet, was not content to simplyshowuswhat project Van Buren (akaFallout 3,back when Black Isles was still working on it) looked like. They’ve provided adownload linkfor the tech demo shown in the aforementioned video, and it is, indeed, fully playable. Up until now, Nintendo’s GameBoy was the best selling handheld game system ever, with some 118 million units sold. When you look back at your collection of portables, it makes sense. I still have the ol’ Green Screen, Game Boy Pocket, a broken Game Boy Color, and a GBA SP. I had the Micro for some time and I lost that sweet GBP that had the Timex Indiglo backlight. Hey, that’s how they got that record!...

Japanese DSi systems havejust been blessedwith the latest firmware. The update isn’t stuffed to the gills with features, but it does bring one noteworthy feature — Facebook connectivity. The only other improvement with v1.4 is faster image display with the DSi camera. Since you’re not an infant, however, the camera improvements probably don’t interest you. If you love Facebook and somehow don’t have a portable electronic that can access it yet, be calm....

I can’t even begin to recap all the stuff that happened this week on The Destructoid Show. Despite the fact that we’re in a pre-VGA’s news lull, we still found plenty to talk about. Off the top of my head, I know that Tofu Boy, theUnchartedmovie, theInceptiongame, theGran Turismo 5review,Back to the Future,Videodrome,Binary Domain, andMario Sports Mixwere all in there somewhere, but the details are sketchy. I mostly remember Tara Long being particularly hilarious this week....

We got to hang out with evil publisher Activision and check out Infinity Ward’s hot shooter, up close and personal. The team was demoing the snow level that you may have already read about. Early in the Electronic Arts press conference this afternoon, EA’s Peter Moore hit the stage with a live demo ofFight Night Round 4. If you’ve played the demo, you’ve already experienced what Moore was demonstrating — beautiful physics, lifelike blood and sweat, and a fluid fighting. At the end of the short demo, Moore announced thatFight Night Round 4would release on June 25 — a week before it was scheduled to be release prior to EA’s press conference....

With Microsoft pulling the sheets off Kinect at this year’s E3, some wondered why Lionhead and Peter Molyneux — an outspoken supporter of the technology — had nothing to show off. Some had speculated that the developer would include Kinect support in its upcoming action role-playing game,Fable III. Over the past few days, Molyneux and company have been demoing the title, with no Kinect support in sight. But when asked if Lionhead had anything up its sleeve, Molyneux’s response hinted at a future announcement....

But it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to keep up the EA hate train; lately, they’ve been publishing lots of wonderfully fun, exciting, and daring new titles likeRock Band,Mirror’s Edge,Spore, andHenry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure. Last year,NHL 08garnered “Sports Game of the Year” honors from seven publications, but that doesn’t mean that EA Canada is resting on its lofty laurels....
