Casual gaming king PopCap Games sent out word earlier today that it has acquired indie developer Gastronaut Studios. If that name doesn’t ring any bells, chances are you’ve heard of some of the titles the company has worked on. Gastronaut put outSmall Armson Xbox LIVE Arcade, and also developed PopCap’sFeeding Frenzy 2and the XBLA port ofPeggle. According the press release (check after the break if you’re dying to see it), Gastronaut’s employees and assets will join PopCap’s internal team for work on various unnamed projects....

Looks like Electronic Arts and Criterion are looking to muck up yourNeed for Speed: Hot PursuitAutolog later this month with the “Super Sports” downloadable content pack. The DLC will feature 13 all-new race and pursuit events, along with three new cars: the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, the GUMPERT Apollo S, and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. In case you’re not following along, these cars are crazy fast; they’ll be available as both cop and racer vehicles....

I’ve been aResident Evilfanatic ever since that damndog jumped through the windowin the original game back in 1996. I’ve played all of the games, read all the books, seen the movies, and have absorbed every little of bit of knowledge I can about the series. Hell, I even own theResident Evil Archivesbook. WET is one of those games that had to jump through special hoops to simply exist. Since the game was one of those victims of the Activision Blizzard merger, the very fact that the game still exists is a fortunate sign. Considering that female lead, Rubi Malone, is the one who does the killing, it’s nice to see that the product of Artificial Mind and Movement, as well as Bethesda, is finally going to be released....

Ubisoft has announced thatPrince of Persia Classicwill be coming to the PlayStation Network this Thursday, October 23. As the name implies, the game is a remake of Jordan Mechner’s 1989 title, featuring updated graphics, music, and more. If this game sounds and looks familiar, that’s because it is —Prince of Persia Classicwas released on Xbox LIVE Arcade last June. Hopefullythat strange glitchhas been worked out of the PSN version. No word on pricing, but the XBLA version cost around $10, so we’d expect roughly the same come Thursday....

Today THQ announced that Volition’s shooterRed Faction: Guerrillaand Vigil’s brawlerDarksiders: Wrath of Warhave been delayed until the next financial year. This means neither of these titles may see the light of day until 2010. Darksiderscertainly has an interesting premise. The game will put players in the role of War, one of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. Instead of delivering the human soul to the underworld, the game will allow players to fight wicked huge monsters with overgrown swords and high-powered ballistics....

This is a review for a game calledZombie Driver. The game is about running zombies over in a car and killing them with weapons attached to said car. The review will tell you, in my opinion, whether or not the act of running over and killing zombies with a car is an entertaining as it should be. If you are one of the many who were unlike me and not baffled/bored by the originalRez, then you are no doubt looking forward toRez HDon Xbox Live. The original worked with a special “trance controller” that you could use to vibrate on parts of your body, and while there is no such controller this time around, you cansomewhat simulate it. Rez HDwill provide rumble for all four controller ports on the Xbox 360, which can only suggest that the developers expect you to connect four different gamepads, and then duct tape three of them to your back like some kind of blasphemous plastic porcupine....
