Bloons 2is out, and it’s decidedly more of the same awesome balloon-popping, madness-inducing fun that the original flash game was. About as simple a concept as you can get, but the execution is perfect. Apparently the first game was played more than one billion times, which sounds about right. All that really needs to be said aboutBloons 2is that you get to directly control bees. BEES!

According to a report fromStarcraftWire,StarCraft IIwill be released in 2009. The information stems from Activision Blizzard’s show Activate Asia Pacific in Auckland, New Zealand. Philip Earl, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Blizzard Asia Pacific, was kind enough to tell an audience a prediction for the release. Next year’s offerings from Activision Blizzard should include highly anticipated PC strategy title StarCraft II, the sequel to one of the world’s most enduringly popular games....

Things can get, er, hecticinBioShock 2. You’re a prototype Big Daddy, upsetting the new Rapture equilibrium established after the first game. The baddies — the Splicers — aren’t happy to see you again and don’t have a problem trying to kill you. Kotakuis reporting that SuperVillain Studios (the folks behindDungeon Siege: Throne of Agonyfor the PlayStation Portable, and theflOwexpansion pack on the PlayStation 3) are working on two unannounced titles for the Wii. It was already known that SuperVillain had been eyeing the Wii for the development, but two games? Those feisty little devils are so … feisty. SuperVillain has done quite a bit of work with Activision, handling ports of a number of games, fromGUNtoTony Hawk’s American Wasteland....

One of the strangest (and strangely disturbing) things to ever come from a respected (?) news source has to be MSNBC’s Flash gameNewsBreaker. The online game, which plays just like the classic gameBreakout, can be found on the news channel’sWeb site. The concept is simple: move your paddle left and right to keep the bouncing ball in play, knocking colored bricks away for points and the occasional power-up. What is so odd is every so often a current news story pulled directly from the MSNBC feeds falls from one of the destroyed blocks....

I’ve been pretty disappointed withInfinite Undiscoverythus far, so I now look to Square Enix’sothernon-Final Fantasyconsole RPG,The Last Remnant, to fill that JRPG void in my life.Like thelast teaser, this new one reveals very little. At least there is some actual imagery this time. UnlikeInfinite Undiscovery, Square Enix is taking the development reigns on this one, so hopefully it will actually turn out to be halfway decent.
