Valve has been releasing information about the newest update forTeam Fortress 2in a trickle. On Tuesday, it was revealed that the latest batch of content would not be featuring a class update. Hence the name,“The Classless Update.”Instead, we’re getting hats! Oh, and a pretty nifty-sounding community map. Then, Valve posted again on Wednesday with with the announcement of a King of the Hill gametype being added to the game and three maps to support the mode....

Tribesis a series of games I never got into, but as one of the forerunners of the online multiplayer first-person shooter it’s a game that many people hold dear to their heart. RecentlyGlobal Agendadeveloper Hi-Rez procured the license for the game and they havejust announcedthe will be using it by making a newTribesgame calledTribes Universe. As you may probably tell from the universe bit of that title,Tribesis going MMO style with “a significant rewrite to the unreal engine servers to allow for 100+ players to be fighting in the same map, a new UI system that is more efficient, a different implementation of character visuals, a new terrain system, etc....

Microsoft has placed second, while Greenpeace’s toxics campaigner Iza Kruszewska has labeled Sony as “clearly leading the way” in eliminating emissions from its manufacturing. It’s a hardware race that the other big two are finally winning. In an interview withEdgeKruszewska said that Nintendo “are not engaging” the problem in the slightest. He added that the company rarely discloses plans to clean up their act and refuses to take back old consoles to dispose of them properly....

A new trailer forPAYDAY: The Heisthas emerged, detailing the “Green Bridge” scenario. On this stage, players will need to apprehend a criminal transport van and rescue a convict from the hands of police. It looks suitably intense, and seems to capture something we’ve seen in crime thrillers so many times. Although the game isn’t graphically stunning, the concept is terrific and the game looks like a load of fun. I can’t wait to finally try it out for myself....

Mad Randy’s at it again! Gearbox Software boss Randy Pitchford, after implying that Valve’s Steam service is aconflict of interest, has criticized Valveonce more, this time because the studio doesn’t work with the PlayStation 3. Hereallygoes for the jugular this time. “I noticed something on the net not too long ago. Somebody at Electronic Arts enjoys watching PlayStation 3 owners squirm and post angry comments over the Internet.
