Let’s talk about The Last Story’s multiplayer

Against what one could deem better judgment, Mistwalker’sThe Last Storyis going to be one of those rare Wii games with a strong multiplayer element. If you were at all curious about the online mode ofLast Story, you’re in luck, for all has been revealed. Multiplayer is split into two main modes — Versus (a free-for-all competitive battle) and Raid (a co-op boss challenge). In Raid mode, you’ll get to keep the weapons and items you’ve earned during the course of the game, but the team’s levels will be evened out....

Little King’s Story Vita new details, playable at TGS

We learned just yesterdaythat Konami will be publishing a new PS Vita Little King’s Story title. It’s not clear yet if the game is new or some sort of port, but who cares! Portable Little King action is enough for me. The game is said to have a new story, but the main character and heroine are listed as King Corobo and Princess Apricot, both from the original. So it could go either way....

Lulz: Clip from Penn & Teller: Bullsh*t! on videogames

I likePenn & Teller: Bullsh*t!, thatShowtime seriesthat cracks open anything and everything you’d be curious/passionate about and makes it look silly/stupid/trivial. Their next focus is on video games, and a new clip from the upcoming show features an anti-violent video game activist (pictured above) that we can laugh at. Check out his “fire chart” on games and violence. Classic. One of his triangle’s sides is “mass-killing simulators,” or what we’d call first-person shooters....

Mario sweaters for only $435

Let’s filethis oneunder “If I Only Had the Money.” Shigesato Itoi, the man who createdEarthbound, has anonline storewhere he sells things that are rad. His store just released its “1st Season” catalog for 2010 and it features some really cool stuff. The most relevant to a gaming site is a really sweet wool sweater featuring Mario and Luigi. The sweaters are 100 percent wool and made by hand. It’s all licensed and official too....

Mega64: Nintendo and the 3DS are so revolutionary

Nintendo hasn’t said much about the tentatively-named3DSso far, except that it’s coming out in Japan sometime between E3 2010 and the end of March 2011. But Mega64 is already sure that the new platform will change the face of gaming forever by creating a sense of immersion like you’ve never felt before! On an unrelated note: Shawn, I never knew you were such a big Fall Out Boy fan. We’ll have to get together and rock out to “Dead on Arrival” inRock Bandsometime!...

Modojo’s Facebook 3DS Friend Code Finder is a handy thing

People are all excited (kind of) again about sharing Friend Codes now that Nintendo has improved how they work in the Nintendo 3DS. On launch day I spent a long time manually looking for and entering codes. Where was Modojo with this cool 3DS Friend Code Finder a couple of weeks ago? Users of Facebook can enter their Friend Code inthis handy application. The obvious benefit is that users can find the codes of other friends in the generated list on the page....

My Friends announced for DS, sounds sickening

Such a slow news day is this, we are reduced to talking about the announcement ofMy Friendsfor the Nintendo DS. Apparently designed for people who are unable to make friends of their own,My Friendsallows you to create your own 3D character and then makepretendfriends in a virtual world. They can never truly love you, but they can never truly harm you. Theperfectfriends indeed. Just like in real life, the “friends” ofMy Friendsare superficial and vapid entities who will befriend you based upon the kind of clothes you choose to wear....

Namco Bandai confirms more Tales games we’ll never play

The last game in Namco Bandai’s much storiedTalesseries that I played wasTales of Destinyon the PlayStation. Man, I loved that game. It’s an RPG so, of course, I never actually finished it but I had a great time playing. Damn good thing that I didn’t become hopelessly addicted to the series, seeing as how half of the titles never see release outside of Japan. Take the three games Famitsu has reported confirmation of from a Namco Bandai press conference centered around the series....

NES business card holders might be cool, if we could see them clearly

Now here is a product that I would probably blow my money on without a moment’s hesitation: a business card holder with retro flavor, representing everything from Mario and Zelda to Ice Climber and even classic Famicom. Cool, right? The only problem is, the product photo appears to have been taken with a low quality camera phone or something equally awful. I think my cat could have done a better job with a camera taped to his ass while hanging from a ceiling fan....

WhileBomberman Livestill has the Destructoid crew gripped firmly in its meathooks, it’s safe to say thatCastle Crasherslooks like the Next Big Thing on XBLA. In this video from Comic-Con, we get to see an entire boss battle play out and get a big taste of what to expect from the crack animators and developers at The Behemoth. I want this game.
