A few months back, promising-looking footage for a horror game calledThe Callingpopped up on YouTube. It was ripped down rather swiftly, however, and Hudson claimed that while the game was a real one they were working on, that the footage was stolen from them. It was a bit of a fiasco, and for a while there was no word of the game (much to my great disappointment). you’re able to imagine, then, that I was ecstatic to see that Famitsu has announced the game is officially coming for Wii....

If you’re a game news and sales stat junkie, you probably know that the Xbox 360 has never really had a strong showing in Japan, and aside from a few strong week-long spikes, its sales rank usually sits pretty low when compared to the other available consoles in Japan.Halo 3’sJapanese launch week brought on one of those spikes, but things died down quickly, and Microsoft’s console never came out on top — until now....

All one needs to do is look back at history and see that Sony has always been the worst at keeping secrets. They’re also good at creating really silly devices. Put those two together and it’s easy to believe that this PlayStation Phone is actually coming. It gets even easier to believe with this latest bit from Japanese newspaperAsahi Shimbun....

The best one has to be the “Teku Teku Prinny” item, a little Prinny that follows you around as you cruise Home. In the gallery below you can see what this space is going to be like. It seems there’s a card game in this area, and I love that your Home avatar can wear a Prinny shirt....

In an interview with theFinancial Times, Sony president Kaz Hirai revealed that he has set a target of 150 million PS3 units sold worldwide. Selling that many units is certainly a lofty goal, but Hirai isn’t referring to shipping that many PS3 in this generation of consoles. He’s going on the assumption that the PS3 will experience the same kind of long-term success that the PS2 is still having. It’s not fun for me replicating the PS2 numbers....

Riot Games’ massively popularLeague of Legendsnow has a Tribunal feature on itswebsite, which lets the game’s community review cases of feeding, verbal harassment, and other things you might see people going nuts over. As long as you are level 30 and haven’t been banned for leaving games before, you’ll be able to go over cases — including stats and a chatlog of a game in which a person has been widely reported — and judge it any way you like....

I wouldn’t have guessed that Radical Entertainment’s Prototype would ever see a sequel, but look at me being wrong. In 2012,Prototype 2is set to drop, and… it looks a lot likePrototype, doesn’t it? At least that’s what I’m getting from this teaser trailer, which shows about five seconds of gameplay that could be from the sequel. Or it could be from the original. Electronic Gaming Monthlyhas an exclusive in its next issue, so it doesn’t sound like it’ll be long before we find out what really setsPrototypeapart from its predecessor....

I’m not what one could call a “graphics whore” — I love Wii games, andDeadly Premonitionis one of my favorite games of all time. However, when a game looks as gorgeous asLittleBigPlanet 2, screw it, I’m going to bust a nut. This latest trailer shows off the grappling hook and is well worth checking out. I’m quite eager to see the full game in action, so if Sony would like to hurry up and send us some copies, we wouldn’t say no!...

The mascot team that would have blown my pre-teen mind, Mario and Sonic, are meeting up again for another Olympic event. The London 2012 Olympic Games will have Mario and Sonic joining forces for a new Wii and 3DS title,Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. This new one will include soccer, aquatics and table tennis. Oh, and equestrian events. And for the first time ever, Mario and Sonic will be competing for the gold in 3D on the 3DS....
