TGS 2007: Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword stylus

For some, the highlights of last night’s Tecmo party might have been the food, the booze, or the random waitresses wearing maid outfits. But for me, it was totally this sweetNinja Gaidendragon sword stylus. The best part? You couldn’t take a crap without having one of fifteen maids hand you one. Exiting the party to use the bathroom would get you one, as would re-entering the party. While I’m not one to complain about this sweet stylus, sometimes you need to get to the bathroom without interruption, and the last thing you need is a maid trying to give you aNinja Gaidenstylus....

The inside story on the PS3’s game installations

Mandatory installations of certain PlayStation 3 games (e.g.,Devil May Cry 4,Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds) have become a point of contention among gamers. We’ve certainly seen that happen here on Destructoid in a few c-blogs wherethingsgotheatedat times. The typical explanation that gamers have been given is the PS3’s 2x Blu-ray drive, which has a much slower maximum read speed than the 12x DVD drive in the 360 (72 Mbps vs....

This Ride to Hell teaser does not exactly inspire confidence

Ride to Hell, from Deep Silver, appeals to my interests. An open-world game set in the late sixties, centered around a motorcycle gang in California has a lot of potential. And when I heard that the designers were using Hunter S. Thompson’s classic book,Hell’s Angels,to assist in setting the tone and help provide a historical perspective, I grew very interested in seeing more. Now they release this… thing. It’s only supposed to be a “teaser,” but it doesn’t really tease much of anything at all....

Those About to Die: This isn’t war, this is murder

[It’s time for anotherMonthly Musing— the monthly community blog theme that provides readers with a chance to get their articles and discussions printed on the frontpage. — CTZ] Always being one late to the party, I recently started a playthrough ofCall of Duty: World at War. To be completely honest, I don’t like it very much. Though Treyarch certainly does better than their last attempt, I just can’t go back to the slower pacing of a World War 2 game after the bliss that isModern Warfare....

Ubisoft: ‘Play Haze for yourself’

Time was, when a game got a bad review, the publisher would keep its head down and wait a year or two before releasing a sequel. These days, however, with those in the games industry becoming more vocal, it seems that a high-profile game can’t escape bad review scores without some ridiculous damage control. In its bid to cover up for less-than-positiveHazereview scores (not least IGN’s shocking 4.5), publisher Ubisoft has discredited the review process and urged customers to tryHazefor themselves....
