Renegade Kid’s Creative Director Jools Watsham has decided to reveal the first footage of their upcoming Nintendo DS game,Moon, via a web cam. And then posting the video up on YouTube. Yes, we’re talking about footage of a Nintendo DS game taken with a web cam. Hey, it’s not the best way to make a first impression, but it works. Renegade Kids’ impressive 3D engine (which powered last year’sDementium) is rendering some pretty nifty space environments, and there’s even a tease of a vehicle towards the end of the video....

Continuing our run of surprisingly good free Apps, here’s Luc Bernard’s cool RPG,Steam Pirates. It’s been free for a while, and I don’t know if it’ll ever start charging again, so make sure you get it while you can. Steam Piratesis a fun little roleplaying game with turn-based combat. It has the quality art style that we’ve come to expect from Bernard, and while the dialog could be much more funny, it’s a cool game regardless....

An unfortunate customer who purchasedCall of Duty: Black Opson PC has been so incensed by his inability to play the game that he’s taken overmodernwarfare3.co.uk, putting up a page that criticizes last year’s hit game and asks sympathetic gamers for money. “I was unlucky enough to waste my money on Black Ops on the pc,” he writes. “To this date it is still unplayable due to crap coding and design and a number of patchs (sic) which made things worse!...

Being the third largest economy in the world is usually pretty cool. It wasn’t as cool for Japan in 2009, as their economy joined every other one in going south. Because of that, their games market also suffered. Raking in 5.9 billion dollars in sounds great, but that’s actually down 6.9 percent from the year before. The big difference was hardware sales, which were down over 13 percent. This kind of makes sense, as 2009 was the year of console rehashes....

Konami tossed out a few more screenshots for the iPhone title,Metal Gear Solid Touch. As you’re able to see it’s a lightgun-style game, starring Old Snake, his gun, and the war economy. The visuals are refreshingly crisp, not blurry or muddy like other “big” releases on the iPhone store as of late. The story screen is of special interest to me, mainly because I fear it. Hellion: Mystery of the Inquisitionis a game I’ve been following for quite some time, and this very first piece of gameplay footage looks … rough. Very rough indeed.
