We’re on the verge of finishing up the very first series of Backlog, my ongoing attempt to clear my library of dusty, unfinished games. I started things out withUncharted 2: Among Thievesand, no doubt due to my exceptional skill in being knocked off trains, I’d say it’s been at least somewhat entertaining. But being on the cusp of victory, such as it is, means we must begin looking for the next kingdom to conquer....

I don’t know exactly what it is, but it certainly looks and sounds neat. An experiment made by .theprodukktis called.deTuned, and it is coming to the PS3 later this year. According to thePlayStaton Blog, this isn’t actually a game or an art piece. It’s more of an abstract experience that you can…experience when you’re listening to music on your PS3. With .deTuned, you’ll be able to create your own visuals to go with your music, and then mess with them using your SIXAXIS controller....

When I look at the picture above, I see nothing more than a bunch of plastic posing as a frame for your Nintendo Wii’s Nunchuck and Wiimote. Come to think of it, the game (Link’s Crossbow Training) Nintendo decided to include with the “frame” doesn’t look to be all that sinister either. As you might expect, however, others are apt to see something more. While most of us will look at this for what it is — a modern day version of the orange zapper of the NES days — the critics will likely try to spin it, in order to try and further their own agenda....

As a side effect ofTeam Fortress 2becoming permanently free, Valve will make its Source SDK free as well. I wonder if people who paid to get access to mods in the past will come out of hiding and demand a refund.Wouldn’t surprise me, sadly.
