Yep, Pokemon Park Wii is a retail game

Last time we posted aboutPokemon Park Wii: Pikachu’s Great Adventure, there was some confusion about if the game would come to retail or a be WiiWare title. If it was a WiiWare title, then the game’s 1st gen-Gamecube quality graphics would be understandable. If it was was a retail game, then yeah, it should probably lookbetterdifferent. Though it’s sometimes easy to forget, the Wii is technically more powerful than the Gamecube, and Pokemon is one of Nintendo’s most important and successful franchises....

The news comes from a recent investment meeting, where the publisher revealed thatSkyward Swordwas in its final production phase, getting that last spit n’ polish before completion. Ziff Davis pulls the old bait ‘n switch trick

Oh, those rascals over at Ziff Davis, always playing pranks. You truly do tickle my funny bone. I love how long it takes the guy to realize that they’re screwing with him. It’s an original idea to do, and for passers by, it’ll just screw with their heads. “Why are you playing a PS1 game on the Wii?” I wonder how people would react to seeing someone playingDead Risingon the Wii....

A slew of games from the Atari catalog come to Steam

Out of all the Atari games to hit Steam, there were really only two that stood out to me. The first wasIndigo Prophecy, forobvious reasons, and the other wasRoller Coaster Tycoon 3: Platinum. If my second choice has you questioning my taste in games, I’m almost positive that the embedded video will convince you otherwise. It’s a shame they didn’t just use it as the actual commercial for the game, because nothing gets you in the buying mood quite like murderous roller coasters....

An 8-bit version of Dark Void? I would buy this thing!

I’ve been a champion for Capcom’sDark Voidsince I saw it early last year. Combining Airtight Studios’ air-combat pedigree with a jet-pack and some machine guns? Sold. But this 8-bit concept for the title that Capcom’s cooked up for April Fools’ day is as glorious — if not more so — than the version that actually hits PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC later this year. They’ve given the title a retro makeover, complete with a classic 8-bit title screen, a familiar Mega Man-esque sprite of the game’s main character, and a remix of the game’s main theme....
