In stores (officially) today, Renegade Kids’ Nintendo DS horror offering,Dementium: The Ward, is apparently pretty good. Well, at leastwe seemed to think so. Videogame publisher Mastiff seem to agree, and have announced a deal with the developer to publish their next title. “Renegade Kid has proven that the DS is not just a platform for kiddie games,” said Bill Swartz, “Head Woof” of Mastiff. “With skillful use of audio and controls, the developer created a truly creepy experience inDementium: The Ward....

During a recent pre-E3 event, he switches gears a bit, transforming into a blend of a carnival barker and a Las Vegas prize fight ring announcer....

Yup. That’s definitelyMetal Slug. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. It’s one of those games where, so long as they don’t muck about too much with the core gameplay, I’m perfectly happy to go along for the ride. By the same token, it doesn’t exactly get me pumped either. Microsoft’sMedia Center Extenderidea wasn’t the most well-received. The extender devices (mostly from third parties like D-Link and Cisco) were supposed to connect to Windows PCs to pipe the Windows Media experience to your home entertainment system, but they never got past the clunky stage, and they really didn’t sell that well. Well, there was one Media Center Extender that sold rather well. You know it as the Xbox 360, and much like these other devices, Microsoft’s console could be used to stream videos and music....

Microsoft Game Studiosis on the hunt for talent. They’re wanting people to make Xbox Live Arcade and Windows Phone 7 games. They say that they’re “aggressively” looking for both established and new developers to make games. They’re putting the word out now. Recently, Ensemble Studios updated theirHalo WarsWeb siteand introduced us to the UNSC firebase, and the Warthog. The UNSC firebase (the huge thing) is a mobile barracks and vehicle assembly line. It also comes imbued with a special power called “Spirit of Fire” that “can directly deploy the entire assembly unit of a firebase making it immediately useful.” Also outlined was the Warthog, everyone’s favorite Halo physics shredder. InHalo Wars, the Warthog is a light vehicle, used more for its ability to scout rather than running over teammates in deathmatches....

It’s no secret that Blizzard Entertainment is crafting another MMO. The studio isn’t commenting on what it is or when it’s hitting of course, but the fact that they are treading on their own territory raises a few questions.World of Warcraftis still ridiculous popular, and it’s hard to believe players will abandon the title. So, is Blizzard worried their forthcoming MMO will compete with it? No, not really. They’re thinking co-existence is possible....
