Interview: Jeremiah ‘Miah’ Slaczka unscribbles Scribblenauts

It’s a game that came out of nowhere. A small studio, some interesting but far from perfect DS games, and a new title with an outlandish claim that every itemin the worldwould be inside — 5TH Cell didn’t just have a lot to prove; they had to follow up with their crazy goals. Then E3 happened. With people finally getting some hands-on time,Scribblenautswent from mere novelty title to a must-have. Somewhere between summoning the kraken and making keyboard cat, things just clicked....

Jack Black dresses like Eddie Riggs for the VMAs

The 2009 Video Music Awards didn’t kick off without a bit of videogame-related goodness. Actor, comedian, singer, and c–k push-up master Jack Black made a red carpet appearance at the place of the event donning the garb ofBrutal Legend’sEddie Riggs. Black is the voice behind the lead protagonist of the upcoming title, so it’s only natural for him to do this. Nothing weird about it at all. Nope. Complete with fake muscles, a graphic tee and a ridiculously large fake axe, Black exposed the predominately 14-year-old girl viewership to the character....

Kid gets his arm chewed off by an alligator, bemoans the loss of his PS3 skills

Being a New Orleans native, I know the spooky folklore is only partially true: you may be the victim of a voodoo curse down in the good old south, but its more likely you’ll die of alcohol poisoning before you piss anyone off enough to stick pins in a doll made in your image. The threat of alligators is very real, however, as 11 year old Devin Funck can surely testify....

Kid’s Mom Mistakes Castlevania FAQ for Murder Plans

One of the writers at4 Color Rebellionhad a little mix-up with his mother. After printing out the FAQ for Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, some of the papers got mixed in with stuff that he dropped off at his mother’s office. So, his mother then scribbles a rather ominous note on one of the pages. Her note is scribbled on the bottom right and transcribed in the blue area to make it more legible for you, but the son “left his mother’s old-asian-lady grammar intact....

Lots of Devil Survivor 2 screenshots and art

[Update: Altus Japan has posteda new trailer forDevil Survivor 2on YouTube.] It still blows my mind that Atlus decided to makeDevil Survivor‘s sequel a DS game, and not a 3DS game. Still, I’m quite excited for this release, and these new screenshots and art have me looking forward to the release of this game in Japan this summer. I’m always down for more SRPG goodness. The story of DS2 has 13 residents of Japan signing a pact with the Devil to become Devil Messengers....

Max’s magic marker makes more mayhem

This was an amazingly good post on Max & the Magic marker that was accidentally overwritten. In it, I expressed that I was excited to play this game. And then it was pointed out to to me that the game came out three weeks ago on WiiWare and this is a video of the PC game which is yet unreleased. There was also some alliteration in the title, like there is now, but it was a different one because I can’t remember what the old title was....

Miyamoto officially one of the 100 People That Shape Our World

I don’t know what the fine people of Los Angeles are waiting for. I have been staring out the window all morning waiting for the giant parade celebrating the greatness that is Miyamoto, but, alas, nothing. All I’ve seen are a homeless man and a couple of tranny prostitutes. Oh, and Stephen Baldwin. No worries. I guess I can just throw my own parade later. I do need to make use of that “I <3 Nintendo” sandwich board I made at some point …...
