Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce demo is on Xbox Live

Today has been officially declared St. Sterling’s day. AnAliens vs. Predatordemo, the announcement ofSonic the Hedgehog 4, and nowDynasty Warriors: Strikeforce? It’s everything the makes me happy! Strikeforceis based on the PSP game of the same name, but while that game failed to build on its potential, the console version adds online co-op.StrikeforcePSPwas a good game, but the ad-hoc multiplayer stopped it being great. The game was ludicrously hard to play solo, and the chances of finding another human being with both a PSP andDynasty Warriorswere slim indeed....

E3 08: The next Wii Remote may include MotionPlus

As we revealed to youpreviously, MotionPlus is a nifty little tool for the Wii Remote that actually gives the sense of 3D awareness. Recently at an E3 roundtable, Nintendo designer Katsuya Eguchi was asked if the MotionPlus would always be an attachment to the bottom of the Wii Remote. His response was nothing but formal. As to looking at whether or not it will be an attachment or built in – we’re always looking at how hardware should evolve and where we should take it....

E3 09: Does the Wii MotionPlus live up to its promises?

Quite by accident, I ended up playing more Wii MotionPlus-controlled games on the E3 showfloor than any other Destructoid editor. Spending time with the UbiSoft developedRed Steel 2,Grand Slam Tennisby EA, and the obviously Nintendo-madeWii Sports Resort, I experienced three very different implementations of the MotionPlus peripheral, with three very different results. What does the Wii MotionPlus feels like? Does it truly replicate one-to-one motion? With the MotionPlus in hand, does the Wii finally do what it promised it would several years ago?...

E3 10: Kinect Joy Ride brings kart racing to Kinect

Confirming all that speculation about the transition ofJoy Ridefrom a free-to-play XBLA arcade racer, Microsoft announced today thatJoy Rideis nowKinect Joy Ride. Clearly, just as you’d expect, the game now uses the Kinect device’s motion control, with the rep from the dev team showing off the title in action. It actually looks very much like the title shown last year, however, now the player uses both hands held up to re-enact the motion of using a steering wheel....

E3 10: Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Dante and Deadpool confirmed

Here’s the newMarvel Vs. Capcom 3trailer. It’s got the news your body craves. The bad news is, still no Phoenix Wright. The good news is, there is a hint of some story, and Deadpool and Dante both look great. The game’s “comic-shader”-style is obviously appropriate for Marvel’s Deadpool, and Dante looks just like he did inViewtiful Joe, but with a normal sized head. We knew that Dante and Deadpool were likely entries forMarvel Vs....

E3 10: PlayStation Move gets a gun shell up in E3

One of the drawbacks to having your motion controller look like a sex toy with a light on top of it is that it can’t easily fit into a plastic gun so you’re able to play on-rails shooters or FPSes on your system.Or can it? A plastic gun shell for the PlayStation Move was spotted in Sony’s booth on the floor at E3, and it actually looks pretty solid. Obviously, the issue of the light being covered is taken care of by the fact that it protrudes out the end, and the rest of the gun is even more self-explanatory....

E3 10: Ubisoft announces breathing simulator Innergy

I am not kidding. Right now, at the Ubisoft press conference, Ubisoft announced a game … er, sorry … a “game” calledInnergy. Basically, it teaches you how to relax by guiding your breathing using a sensor that you attach to your body. At least, that’s what I think it does. I was a little distracted by the guy with pink hair demonstrating it on host Joel McHale. Seriously, what am I even typing?...

E3 BREAK!: Chrono Trigger/Winnie the Pooh fan art

Look, working during E3 is a fantastic experience. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. But it gets exhausting. Sometimes you need to take a break and focus on something else for a second — a nice distraction to help you relax and take your mind off all the stress. For me, that was this fan art combiningChrono Triggerand Winnie the Pooh. (You can view the full piece in the gallery below....

E3: It’s a Real World/Road Rules challenge with The Miz

I got to meet up with WWE’s The Miz, however briefly, at E3 a few minutes ago, and I have to say, this f*cker is intense. I think I’m so used to interviewing relatively subdued game developers that I forgot what it was like to square off in the social squared circle against a subject who is arguably more impersonally explosive than myself. Combine that with the fact that we’re both from opposing MTV reality shows, and you have an inherent rivalry that’s bound to come to a head....

E3: Magicka’s PvP update rolls out on June 21

Those generous chaps at Arrow Head Studios are busy preparing Player vs. Player mode forMagicka. Today, they’ve pinned the free patch as releasing on June 21. Included in said patch are theHavindir Arena and Training Ground maps, plus a new Reservoir wizard robe. I like the sound of that. PvP includes Classic Deathmatch, Brawl mode (set number of lives), and Kreitor mode (limited to certain, changing Magicks).

EA loses spine, drops Taliban from Medal of Honor

Looks like the whining and bitching of mainstream press and the mothers of dead soldiers has finally gotten to Electronic Arts. Despite repeatedly standing by its decision to include the Taliban inMedal of Honor, the publisher has finally lost its balls and decided to cut their inclusion. EA’s Greg Goodrich explains the team is reacting to feedback “from friends and families of fallen soldiers who have expressed concern over the inclusion of the Taliban in the multiplayer portion of our game....

EIEIO 2007: Legendary: The Box impressions

While a good portion of team Destructoid enjoyed the E3 festivities, Haley, Fronz and I got to hang out with the good folks at Gamecock. One of the first games I had a chance to see wasLegendary: The BoxbySpark Unlimited. The demo we were shown wasn’t very long, but did show off a lot of potential. That potential being aided by the Unreal 3 engine. Hit the jump for my impressions ofLegendary,a game thatcould easily be one of the biggest games of 2008....
