One of the early titles to come this console cycle wasTest Drive Unlimited. A title that recreated the entirety of the island of O’ahu,Test Drive Unlimitedwas a solid racing game that offered all sorts of freedom for the player. And here we are again, four years later, and the next game in the series,Test Drive Unlimited 2, is starting to show itself. A racing title, yeah, but this one has a new island, new graphics engine, new car engine, and a larger, almost insane focus on living a lifestyle of luxury....

Codemaster will end online play forGRIDfor PS3 and PC. It’s always a sad day when online ends for a good game. For some reason the Xbox 360 online play will live on. For now. “After three years of service, 2008’sRace Driver: GRID’s online play service has been discontinued for the PS3 and PC editions of the game,” Codemasters says in theirforums. “This follows the decision by a third party provider to decline the offer of an extended contract to continue online play on these platforms....

ACrimson Skiessequel could happen. If it does, it seems likely that its original creator, Jordan Weisman, and his studio, Smith & Tinker, won’t handle the game. Speaking withGameSpot, Weisman confirmed that he still thinks about the high-flying property and plans to do something with it, but those plans won’t include to Smith & Tinker: “I think Crimson Skies is something we’d love to get some energy around, and we have some devious plans — we’ll see if those materialize....

As of a few days ago, the only things that people seemed to know for certain about Capcom’s new IP,Dark Void, is that is has a guy with a jet pack, vertical platforming, and something to do with famous inventor Nikola Tesla. At least that’s all I knew for certain, seeing as any time I’ve previously seen the game it was all about the jet pack. Not that anyone could possibly be against jet packs (this is the future after all), but there is something left to be desired as to the knowing exactly what type of game Capcom is trying to make....

Just whenDragon’s Dogmacouldn’t look more promising to me, Capcom goes ahead and puts a hydra in it. A hydra is a snake that is lots of snakes, and that’s just awesome. Dragon’s Dogmalooks to be all about taking on monsters several stories bigger than you, and this hydra is no exception. The screens show it ripping a village to bits, and looking pretty intimidating while it does so. You can set it on fire though,just like you can the griffon....
