iPhone games continue to find their way on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable, as Grip Games and Supermono Studios have announced that it’s releasingMiniSquadronas a Minis title in February. MiniSquadronhas players taking to the skies, shooting down other planes with an arsenal of weapons, like a mega-laser. So basically, this game is a military simulation. The game is available on iOS, Android, and Palm now. I just installed and played the demo version on my Android phone, and it seems pretty decent....

Not content to have twospecial editionsof the game itself,Modern Warfare 2willalso havea “Prestige Edition” strategy guide. Yeah, aren’t we going just alittleoverboard with the whole “premium” thing now, guys? Brady has revealed two versions of the officialModern Warfare 2strategy guide, a normal one and a more expensive one. The main differences are the fact that the Prestige Edition is hardcover and includes information on how to obtain the game’s Achievements and Trophies....

Mythic president Mark Jacobs knows the crippling effect that gold sellers can have on an in-game economy. He also knows the effect that gold spammers can have on a community with their constant “shouts” to the entire game world. That’s why Jacobs has already taken a hard-line stance inWarhammer Onlineand banned at least 400 people either selling or advertising the sale of in-game gold since this Saturday. In aninterviewwith Newsweek’s N’Gai Croal, Nintendo “visionary” Shigeru Miyamoto fessed up that expanding the Mii universe isn’t off of Nintendo’s table: “In terms of taking the Miis and expanding them, that virtual kind of Sim-type experience. It’s something that a lot of people have already done and shown interest in, and we have a lot of people internally who are interested in that type of a project too.” Yeah, that shouldn’t be a problem, since Nintendo had apparently already considered and rejected the idea years ago....

You want to have something new out there at Christmas. It’s just what you do. And while Nintendo will have new games out this holiday, there won’t be any new systems. The Wii is a bit long in the tooth, and now that we know the 3DS is right around the corner, I don’t see many people picking up a DSi XL. Nintendo’s stock dropped 9.54 percent after the announcement that the 3DS would be released in February in Japan and March in the US....
