Conduit 2 trailer shows off the multiplayer

Oh look, it’s a multiplayer trailer forConduit 2! This video gives you a taste of the twelve-person online combat, not to mention the four-player splitscreen mode. This is definitely looking like the best online first-person-shooter on the Wii … and I almost made myself laugh typing that. Seriously, I’m looking forward to checking this out. The firstConduithad serious potential but was held back by some stodgy pacing and a total lack of aesthetic originality....

Darksiders 2 addressing the backtracking complaints

In my preview forDarksiders II, I mentioned Death’s Ghost Hook weapon which helps you navigate around levels or attack enemies. What I didn’t mention was that you don’t start off with the Ghost Hook right away so you won’t be able to get to hard to reach areas when you start. Obviously this means there’s going to be backtracking but it’s not going to be as tedious as it was inDarksiders....

Dead Rising 2: What Would Chuck Do?

Dead Rising 2is already out in Europe, while I have to wait a few more days to run out to the store and pick it up. Lucky bastards. This video sent by Capcom has some good ideas that I’ll no doubt be putting to use once I get my copy. It explains the weapon combo system, shows different ways to discover what they are and offers some other fun things to do while spending a zombie-filled vacation in Fortune City....

Destructoid editor mentioned on Xbox Live in poor joke

Xbox Live Europe may not have Major Nelson, but itdoeshave two handsome chaps who go by the name of “MrPointyHead” and “SuperKaylo.” They are very much the PJ & Duncan of videogames and I think they do a good job, even though my friend refers to them as “that couple o’ tits who present Xbox Live.” Anyway, the latest episode of their “Sent U A Message” question-and-answer show went up on Xbox Live this week and is notable for mentioning a particular Destructoid editor in what could be described as a shockingly poor joke....

Destructoid interview: Legend: Hand of God creative director Jan Beuck

Some of our European members might recognize Germany-based developer Master Creating and its action role-playing gameLegend: Hand of God, which was warmly received when it released there last year. Destructoid Review: Arcana Heart

I thinkArcana Heartwas marketed the wrong way. No offense, Atlus, but this game deserves more. I could see how this title would be well served marketed as “Japan in a box,” with its moe, loli gals, magical transformations, silly cutscenes, and anime opening. And I could see how your typical Japanophile might be drawn to this title, fighting game fan or not. But underneath all the fluff is a fighting game with qualities that would appeal to the die-hard fan of the genre....

Destructoid review: geoDefense (iPhone)

If you’re a relatively new iPhone user, or even if you’ve had one for a while but find the game selection overwhelming, you may wish you had a guide to help you figure out which games are worth the download and which are worth passing up. I’m a sucker for tower defense, which is whygeoDefensecaught my attention, as it offered both the genre I love and a retro look. Add in that it’s 99 cents, and my interest was pretty piqued....

Devil Survivor Overclocked: Atlus’ most voiced game yet

Atlus Japan said in a new blog post that upcoming 3DS gameDevil Survivor Overclockedhas the highest voiced word count in Atlus history, so much so that they’re a bit concerned about it all fitting on the ROM, or getting it all recorded in time for launch, saysAndriasang. This remake adds on to the DS gameDevil Survivorwith an 8th day, which gives this title 20,000 voiced words in all. The new content makes up for 5,000 of those words, which gives us an idea of how big this new content is....

Doom 4 rears its Hellish head, looking for fresh souls to bring it to life

The father of FPS games, id Software, has revealedthat the legendaryDoomfranchise is getting a new sequel inDoom 4. The game is currently in production, though so far there is no word on formats or a release date (PC can be pretty much assured, though). The studio behindDoom,QuakeandWolfensteinhas declared, however, that it is looking for new talent to work on this new sequel. This is, in fact, how the game was announced — a mere advertisment for talent, rather than some huge “WE CAN HASDOOM” press release....

DSi XL: Not just for old folks, folks

To be fair, I’ve been caling the DSi LL an old person’s system ever since we first saw it. I’m sure that I wasn’t the only one saying that, either. It’s as if Nintendo heard us. Now they respond to that, and they barely give a nod to our precious elderly population. Nintendo’s James Honeywell tells CVG: “It’s absolutely not just for old people. DSi XL appeals to as many people, if not more, than its predecessors....

DtoidAustin NARP: game on at Game Over

The Lone Star state can be a big lonely place without good people, good food, and good games to get you by. Thankfully, all of those things came together in August as Dtoiders from San Antonio, Dallas, and Austin made a Scott Pilgrim-age to the state’s capital for a weekend of drinking, Rock Band-ing, movie viewing, retro-game tourneying, and of course — PANCAKES. Blehman, itemforty, DVDDesign, portastad, Xzyliac, seltzermx, djnealb, silvain, Ryan Barrett and more made the trek to debauch, chill, and compete for big prizes!...

E3 08: SOE’s The Agency makes progress with new concept art

Let me tell you a little story of how E3 can make you feel like a dumbass. After running to the press room to blog about the Nintendo conference that had no food and no games I gave a rat’s ass about, I wrote as fast as I possibly could and then ran to Sony Online Entertainment, where I was shownThe Agency, a very handsome espionage MMO in the James Bond vein....
