Sony: No Demon’s Souls 2 coming … but one day …

As if the game itself wasn’t already good at crushing a player’s spirit, Sony’s Japan Studio has ground the boot in by stating that noDemon’s Soulssequel is forthcoming. However, studio member Takeshi Kajii has said that since everybody loves the damn game, there’s no ruling out a followup in the future. “At the moment, my answer is ‘no sequel!’,” says Kajii. “However, we have been encouraged by all the players, and this title is so well supported, and besides we like this title so much....

Staff of Kings whips out its story

The first video in a new series of videos forthe upcoming Wii gameIndiana Jones and the Staff of Kingsproves two things. One that the game will indeed have a story and two that no matter how many times you hear it the Indiana Jones theme never gets old. The graphics and gameplay shown off in the video actually look pretty solid too, and have raised my hopes substantially for the game....

TGS 2007: Video Game Museum less exciting than Akihabara

If you’re going to take up an entire section at one of the world’s largest industry events and call it a “Video Game Museum,” you’d better be damned sure it delivers. Never mind for a minute the fact it spits in the face of Destructoid’s internal style guide by spelling “videogame” as two words. The least they could do is really blow us away with some rare gems, or other interesting pieces of gaming history....

TGS: Dissidia 012 Doudecim has a silly name, Lightning

I’ll admit right away that this isn’t going to be much of a preview. Think of it as more of a quick update. Dissidia 012 Doudecimis just more of a good thing. It’s moreDissidia, and it brings with it more characters, more fanservice, and some game play tweaks. It’s another fighting-styleFinal Fantasyfan love letter for the PSP. We poked around with the TGS floor demo as Lightning, the lead character inFinal Fantasy XIII....

The Battlefield 2142 Titan training video

On the few occassions I’ve playedBattlefield 2142, it certainly has been firmly placed in my mind as one of the games I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time with. After seeing this video, I’m assured even more that it’s going to kick major ass. That is, unless EA screws it all up and gives us something unplayable because of lag or leaves it riddled with hacker holes.

The Whispered World has a demo you can play

The Whispered Worldhad me at its name, really. Just the very connotations that a name like that creates was enough to hook me in, and then when I found out it was a bountifully illustrated point-and-click adventure game I knew it was a match made in heaven. Still, I had my doubts as years of being disappointed in games that should be good has trained me to do. They are now gone thanks to the demo of the game that has been released and is available for download over atDeep Silver’s site....
