Kinect’s Powerup Heroes gets comic, media flash flood

There’s not a whole lot about Kinect that intrigues me, butPowerup Heroescertainly does. While other motion controlled fighters have opted for realism,Heroesturns your avatar into a superpowered hero out to rescue the world from a series of alien invaders. Each boss you defeat imbues you with their power and, theoretically, the end game could be a lot of fun. Fittingly, the game has gotten a comic book spin-off. Oddly enough it reminds me of thecomics that used to come with kids’ Skechers....

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 pre-order bonuses vary by store

Are you looking forward toKingdom Hearts 358/2on the DS? I’d like to see how they flesh out the story of the series games. It’s supposed to give more background on Organization XIII. The release is still about a month away, so you still have time to decide where you’re going to pre-order it. I was looking around to do just that, and I noticed that a few places have different pre-order bonuses....

McFarlane Toys announces a line of Guitar Hero figures…wait, what?

[As originally posted onTomopop] When I think of games I’d like to see produce some figures,Guitar Heroisn’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind. Actually, it’s not even the third or fourth (those areImagine BabiezandPet Shop Monogotari). But hey, a good figure is a good figure, no matter its origins. Except this isn’t a good figure. This doesn’t even begin toapproachthe basic requirements of a “Good Toy” classification — that is, unless the qualifications have recently been changed to “truck-stop-hooker-faced butt rocker that looks like it was carved out of soap at a summer camp for special needs children....

Metal Gear Online gameplay video: Insert witty headline here

Fancy some new gameplay footage fromMetal Gear Online? If that’s what you woke up hoping for this morning, then fret not, because we have you covered. This is a nice lengthy slice of sniper gameplay, showing how oddly subdued an onlineMetal Geargame is going to potentially be compared to the explosions and homophobic taunting we’ve come to commonly associate with multiplayer gaming. Notice the keyword though — potentially. In the right hands of the right players, this could be a thoughtful, strategic, more mature online gaming experience that we don’t see enough of in the action genre....

Microsoft to open up Xbox Community Game development for more regions

In case you hadn’t checked the Community Games channel lately, it has completely blown up since the New Xbox Experience debuted last week. A handful of the titles showing up are exceptional, likeArtoon, but a good percentage of the games are utter crap — actually, that might be giving too much credit. But like I’ve stressed in the past, the few good games available make up for all the bad....

Monday Mind Teasers: On the road again

You know how it works! With the help of each other, try to figure out all of the disguised game covers. They all share a common theme that, once solved, can help you figure out the harder ones. As usual, don’t be afraid to shout out ideas and work together as a team to solve them all....

MS does on-demand software printing at retail

Microsoft is really making a serious push into retail, as evidenced by what I’ve seen today at the opening of their first retail store. One of the biggest issues with software sales at retail is the real estate that it takes up on the sales floor. you’re able to’t possibly have every product available for the consumer to buy. Or can you? At Microsoft Stores, customers will be able to purchase anything in the Microsoft catalog of PC software, even if the retail box is not carried in the store....

“Hey, I’m Nathan Drake. If you’re the adventurous type like me, then get in on the Subway taste for adventure,” says Nathan Drake in the above video. However, theUncharted 3star has gone a step further by “acting” in a commercial of his very own. He details the “Taste For Adventure” promowe posted earlier, where you can buy sandwiches in exchange for game content....
